I’m sure this was for sale at a opc recently, can’t be many around with those 4.0 rs copy stickers.
Been up for sale on and off over the last 2 years through various sources. Don’t recall if at an OPC but could be wrong

That reminds me, there was an earlier conversation in this thread about 997.1 GT3 rear bumpers distorting over time due to heat. Can’t say I’ve noticed this on my car, interested to know if anyone else has on theirs?
My car used to have a black strip from mid frunk bonnet, all the way to the rear tailpipes. The section above the numberplate blistered, so the strip now ends above the GT3 badge. I guess that answer part of your question?

Was it just the decal that blistered - any damage to the paintwork?

Paint and bumper were fine, but it is obviously getting fairly warm.

Thanks. Yeah, an earlier poster said an Indy said this was a common issue but doesn’t seem to be from what I can gather. Never come across it in over 12 years ownership, something I’ll keep an eye for in future though…

Possibly if the heat shield has failed? They're fairly flimsy and old now

From the advert text:

"This 911 is fitted with some fantastic features, including: Bi-Xenon lighting system, Windscreen with grey top tint, Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor and Electric slide/tilt sunroof."

I have seen another 997.1 GT3 with a sunroof, this makes it an ever rarer comfort spec car!

Bliimey. It's amazing how some stripes would change me from feeling happy driving one of the all-time great sports cars (i.e. any 996/997 GT3) to feeling like a try-hard (4.0L wannabe).

Collecting cars also now have what I believe to be the old John Holland car up for sale. Was owned by a 911uk forum user - not sure on the full story on this one but he only had it a year and a bit I believe (not quite as long as the advert suggests but it has been up for sale for quite awhile) and when someone else enquired about the car through that forum it went into a PM discussion and remained unsold, assume something slightly amiss but could be totally wrong!

Could be the white car Ashgoods sold in the last few years back if it has a sunroof.

Rare option

It says it’s Meteor Grey so it probably isn’t the Ashgood one biggrin

Any advice for servicing GT3s near Oxford?

I had intended to use Fearnsport but after trying to get hold of them over the past week (multiple calls every day) and an email last week - I figure I should look at other options

Unfortunately, anyone that’s really any good is also very busy.

You could also try RPM Technik.

That's where I take mine, no complaints so far.
