I enquired about lead times for C2 or C2S in December 21 and was told 12 to 18 months. I took this to mean 18 months and put the idea on hold for now.
I put my deposit down for C2 in December and was told 8 to 10 months from then so Q3/4 2022. I think there was 5 people in front of me for C2, The list was a lot longer on an C2S etc

If you don’t mind explaining, what happened? Did a bunch of people ahead of you in the queue drop out? Or was Porsche’s estimate changed by 12-months after only 1 month of waiting?
Both statements are correct. When ai placed an order with the dealer, the SE showed me a chart issued by Porsche GB with indicative delivery dates. The next time I visited, while my car was being serviced, I had a chat with the SE and he told me I am 3rd in the queue and I should get one towards the end of this year.
I think they are all guessing as they don’t really know how many allocations they will get. I read in the news that Porsche built a record number of 39,000 of 911s in 2021… where did they go? Certainly not to GB, as our queues are getting longer, not shorter.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. Glad to hear that you should be getting your car earlier than at first expected. (I was shown the same "internal use" chart with 4Q23 lead times for C2S. Seems like with most people choosing GTS, even though there are less build slots for the C2S, there are fewer people in the C2S queue so the potential is there for the situation to improve quickly). The next time I visited, while my car was being serviced, I had a chat with the SE and he told me I am 3rd in the queue and I should get one towards the end of this year.

It certainly is very frustrating reading about Porsche delivering a record number of cars in 2021, and yet here in the UK we seem to be getting very few of them!
However on Tuesday this week, a car transporter traveling in the opposite direction to me on the M25 near Godstone had new 911's onboard! Gave me a bit of hope back!! Some people are going to have great fun this month - and yes I felt a bit jealous!

I think the 2021 productions numbers were only an increase relative to the prior year 2020, which was a severe drop from 2019 @ @37K

So perhaps a 15K to 20K of built-up demand to clear, even if 2022 gets back to normal levels...perhaps feasible by the end of the year.

Anyone driven a standard car and a cab? Much difference?
Also are the back seats worse in the cab?
Cab and Targa have a super vertical position just like the 991 Generation, Coupe has slight recline which is fine for young children, my 8 year old in my Targa refuses to sit in the back, the roll over doesn't help either. Also are the back seats worse in the cab?
Interesting article… looks like 992.2 4.0L NA is coming… woo hoo!

I was told end November 2021 that I was due next Turbo S build slot Depoist put down this time last year). Its now mid Feb. What do we think? Slots being given to preffered customers or genuine delay?
Turbo S's only ever used to be a "one a quarter" allocation for OPC's I could well believe that they haven't had one so far this year. That said you never know whether they've bumped someone else up the list whose just sold them a car for less then it's worth etc.... Cheib said:

Told early last month I was top of the list but no progress since and the fear is that I'm moved down the list in favour of one of the chosen few/ regular buyers etc. The lack of transparency and known issues with GT cars doesn't help especially as June production approaches after which the current price rise hits my order along with any more rises on the model year change. Very frustrated and starting to spoil the experience to be honest.
