992 allocations to the dealers
Discussion
As far as I know all 911’s are made on the same production line, accept maybe for the serious low production specials. I believe they have done this with some Turbo S etc.
I think they will prioritise the higher end models when need be for increased profit. With a brand as strong as Porsche - I would! Most annoying for people with Carrera orders in these times of lower production. I am one of them with my Carrera S.
Happy for people on this forum to add to this if they disagree or even agree.

Ordered in June 2021 for a c2. Told it would be next April .so got my deposit back. Simply didn't want the car that much to wait that long with the increase in costs with it. Life for living. Getting an M4 and doing the road trips this summer with the extra space too.
I would have considered keeping the deposit in place (as well as buying the M4) and waiting to see how much profit you could have made selling the C2 on, when it finally became reality.julian987R said:
The chap from Seen Through Glass got a 992 GT3 allocation a month ago and his build/delivery is October. Plus they got him a PTS slot. In all, that will be a 4 month wait.
Lots of views is cheap advertising, still at least they drive a lot unlike some tennis players…..Davidkn said:
£20k is a 'few' quid to you, nice work if you can get it.
For a c2 in spring next year? Good luck getting people to pay that, and if they do I won't be profiteering from it. That's a large reason why the wait list for many who want the car is so long. Plenty of low mileage cars available that have been flippedEdited by a_dreamer on Sunday 24th July 17:46

TDE got an allocation for a 992 Touring, too.findtomdotcom said:

Not the same though is it….. hence you’re on a Porsche forum. Just saying .findtomdotcom said:
I know it shouldn't and I know why, but this really gets my goat. Fair enough, TGE (TDE is a better name) at least has lots or P cars. But STG isn’t exactly a heavy Porsche buyer. I’m many many 911’s in now and while I love my 992 Turbo S, I would quite like a GT3 Touring. No sign yet. It is pure marketing for Porsche and frankly they don’t need it. Almost makes me want to buy a McLaren…
STG did a whole series, (can't say I followed it) driving around the world in a Porsche 911 T so imagine in clocked up some goodwill from the PR team. TGE just flips, content churns and has plenty of sidelines.... great money maker and uses cars as a platform. Sadly the more interesting stuff doesn't get the views.

£20k is a 'few' quid to you, nice work if you can get it.At the moment, they have little to sell, so selling used cars is key to them.
That said, it is true that speculation inflates markets and makes them volatile. The used/new discrepancy will unwind very quickly once supply meets demand. Speculators (dealers included also) with physical cars will make a loss, a deposit is merely an option to buy, which is refundable. So risk is limited to a shorter period of time.
