Pivo I tried both seats at the OPC - comfort wise there is no difference imo, but 18 ways has little more adjustments for lumbar support. They are slightly harder to get in and out as well as bigger lip at the edges. I ended up ordering 14 ways.
Do try both seats at the showroom
Very interesting, Docmem

I have not considered it. I will certainly try the 14-way seats.

I don’t see a thread on 992 fuel tank capacity, so I am going to swerve off line here…

The US market seems to have an option for a larger capacity fuel tank. Is it available to us in the UK?

I understand it’s just a different baffle in the same fuel tank, according to US forum posts.

I checked on the US configurator, here it is:

I had an opportunity to drive 911 with Sport seats: the 4-way and 18-way.

The 18-way seats provide greater number of adjustments and are more comfortable, but I have to admit that I didn’t really need the additional points. I will stick with the standard Carrera T, 4-way sport seats.

I wonder where does the 911 production allocation go. Porsche is reporting increasing production numbers, while we are patiently waiting for our allocations. Reading Rennlist forum, US is getting new models well ahead the UK, e.g. 992 Carrera T.

I suspect that because of Chinese lock-down US and UK got higher than planned allocations, but as CN gets out of lockdown the delivery will swing in their favour. As a result UK waiting list is 24 months and it’s not getting any better.

I must see if I can find more facts in the Porsche annual reporting for DAX exchange.

im aware its a bit random into the thread, but with the necessary specs, whats kind of the brand new price of a 992 s ~ £110k? (given starting at 102~)

2019 992s are ~90k right now so about 20k under list , 6.6ish depreciation per year it seems
Interesting point, my spec: PPMD3R64 is currently priced at £110,905, but who knows next year

Hi Pivo this was my code PPLUGM13. Not an S but base model as you know. Just one comment on your specs - arent you paying way too much for the PDLS lights. Standard lights are amazing and unless you drive a lot in the night you can save £2000. Hope you get the car soon.
Thanks Docmem, I will go with standard lights on Carrera T and see how it performs. For the C2S I am still thinking of the Matrix. For context, I used to live in the forest with no street lights whatsoever, so I always gravitated to the most advanced lighting available. However, I moved closer to civilization, so std lights might be just fine.

Agreed, the basic lights are superb. In fact, the basic car is superb.

I can see the point in choosing a unique color. Not sure that is worth £10k though!

Fascinating! The stats are not as different as I would expect… driving experience is vastly different though.

Thanks for that. I really do want my own spec though so guess it’ll be a wait.
I spoke with 3 dealers, all quote 18-24 months for 911 base, S and GTS models. GT cars are faster, but you need to have a very good record of buying and selling your P-cars with the dealer.

I am also holding-out to get my own spec and brand spanking new vehicle, as I know what the flippers do with their cars.

Accepted as a buyer??!

There are cancelled orders starting to appear. Some cars are moving as people who have been waiting are taking those cars instead of waiting for cars they have on order which will free up slots for later in the year.

There will be alot more cars available which are in build now and over the next few months which will be cancelled which will free up even more slots. I think the 18 months wait that you are being quoted is nonesense and if i were you i'd call around a few other dealers!
Where do you see cancelled orders? Speaking to my SE, they are shifting metal.

I do hope that the market normalise and we get back to 2018’s lead times.

Ordered my 992 GTS 16months ago, will finally collect it tomorrow.
That is awesome, @Bossgad, well done for waiting, hopefully you will enjoy twice as much!

Are you willing to share (1) order date, (2) allocation date, and (3) delivery date? For our 911 Order to Delivery thread

Ordered 992 basic model 4 in July 2021. Waited patiently for 6 months then bought a used one. Sold it back in Jan when I was told my new car came off the assembly line on 12 Jan 2023. Even got photos but now I'm beginning to doubt them. Was told car would arrive early Feb so decided to wait until1/3 before registering it. Last week was told its still at Emden waiting to be shipped. Should I be suspicious? Anyone else suffering from Emden Blues?
@Softcentre, hopefully your car is on the next boat across the moat!

Today marks 70-weeks since I placed order for 911 Carrera S.

I was 4th in the queue then and I am 4th in the queue now.

I suspect when it finally arrives it will be 992.2 !

I gave up waiting for my base car with no news at about 70 weeks in. It took my that long to realise that waiting was pointless as I should have upgraded to a GTS early on or a T later on as these were the only cars they wanted to sell, neither of which were what I wanted.
Ditto, I am getting 992 T in May. Once behind the wheel I will reassess if I still want an S

Last weekend I wrote a letter addressed to Krishan Bodhani. I received an email and call from Andrew Hughes which didn't help much........................but yesterday evening I received an email from my OPC saying my car was now on a ship. Don't know which one but hopefully
in Grimsby by tomorrow.
Trying not to get too excited until I actually see my car.
Don't know if the letter helped or if it was just coincidence - I guess I'll never know.
That is great… probably coincident, as I don’t think Krishan can move logistics on the continent, but the main thing is that you are getting your vehicle. Congrats!

Today marks 73-weeks from the day I placed an order for 992 C2S.

I am rather disappointed and disillusioned with the OPC, as I started as 4th, and 516 days later I am still 4th in the queue. Is that normal?

That’s ridiculous to have to wait that long and still have be 4th on the list. They have clearly had other 992 c2s cars delivered in that time otherwise they wouldn’t have a viable new car sales business!
I actually think that the 911’s were pre-reg as demo cars and swiftly sold at premium, rather than allocated to patiently awaiting customers.

There’s the rub with the massive 911 waits. Genuinely interested in What other brands/cars would you look at/are direct replacement for a nicely specd 911 as a daily driver?

I mean In terms of use ability/performance/running costs and depreciation.
If I can't have boxer-6-cyl motor, I would go back to inline-6-cyl motor.
Depreciation is heavy, but the car is a decent daily driver.
