The public announcement of 992.2 is expected by the end of the year, with prod slots for Q1-Q2. So the most likely scenario is for me to get the 992.2 C2S in Q2-Q3 of 2023. I can live with that.
So, with the 992.2 only a few months away, and Porsche’s habit of improving, refining and fine tuning all their .2 iterations, will there not be an issue with customers, who have imminent builds, wanting to make sure they get the new model?Especially as there could be significant financial considerations.
I assumed that was 'a given' or am I wrong?

Absolutely, this is why it’s kept quiet to the last moment.Especially as there could be significant financial considerations.
Having said that, if I had an allocation today, I would take it, as with the current global s#¡t-s#0w we don’t know what is going to happen next week, not to mention next year!
Having had the C2S for a week now and driven it in all conditions, I can only say the car is absolutely brilliant and I couldn’t be more happy! It just gives you such a great feel good factor when you drive it and does everything so well. For me the performance is really good and the engine is super smooth.
I really hope all of you don’t experience more delays and your cars keep to their current build schedule. And I will say it as others have before me.

Ordered Feb 21 for planned delivery in March 22 which the dealer thought was easily achievable. Didn't get an allocation until April 22 (as the dealer had no base or S allocations since mid 21) for June build/July delivery. Didn’t start build until late July just about when they disappeared off for summer break. Built and shipped to Emden early September. Sat there for over 6 weeks along with other 911s to fit a part. Then took a further couple of weeks to get on the boat etc.. All in all a very long wait indeed.

I am exactly 50-weeks from order (C2S). You got your C4S allocation after 60 weeks… it gives me a target, when to antagonise the SE… again!

Suffering from the ultimate 1st world of problems.
Have known for a couple of weeks that my car was scheduled to be delivered to the dealership on the 11th. Have been trying to be proactive and dot all the i's and t's but the salesman has been mediocre at best.
Phoned yesterday morning for an update and was told he was not in again until Monday. Was put through to another sales person who confirmed the car had arrived but nothing would happen before Monday and then it would take some time.
I am trying not to be too childish but equally I am giving them a shed load of money for something that is just a shear indulgence. They have not grasped that the customer experience is almost as important as the physical product.
They are in a position at present to take the attitude that I should be grateful for getting it at all. They overlook the fact that the economy is on a knife edge and bad service now will hurt them in the future.

Isn’t the OPC primary objective to sell, deliver and service cars? What is holding them back? Or do they rely on SE to coordinate the process?
I am surprised they are not being more helpful. My car (see above) arrived late on a Friday afternoon when it was dark. Salesman did a walk around video on Saturday morning and we were so excited we went round late morning to have a look at it - salesman brought it inside into the rear of the showroom… when the staff were trying to do the pdi… suggest you give them a ring and pop round to see it if you want. It has got to be a good experience for you.
