Really sorry to hear that Dixy. For me the buying experience is all part of it so like you it’s important. My dealer sent me photos the morning it rolled off the transporter, white stickers and all. He knew me well enough to know I’d get a kick from seeing it had arrived.

Have you thought about calling the Centre and asking to speak to the Sales Manager? It’s a lot of money mate, I’d call the Centre and have a polite chat about the experience so far…

Just to add to this- the wait will be worth it.

I am now over 40,000 miles into mine and it is just the best thing out there.

It is still an as new condition as far as I can tell. No leaking turbos or funny rattles.

I put a deposit on a new one, however I am thinking what was the point? Probably still 18 months away.

Maybe all this waiting time makes me appreciate what I have.

Mine just gets better with age, did another 200 miles today and it felt as good as you can get for a road car.

When I posted I was fully prepared to be ripped a new one for being petulant.
The game plan for Monday is at 9.20 am I will ask the SE "what time can I collect my car today"

Excellent to hear that you've already put 40K miles on it and it's been trouble free smile

Mine arrived at the dealer late afternoon on the 27th of Sep. Got photos from SE virtually straight away and we picked it up on the 30th at 9am.
I would be straight onto the sales manager if they had started saying couldn’t have the car for a long period of time!

Hand over is at 2.30 tomorrow.
Excited but experience has been tainted.
Spent the day sorting out all the online things most of which I don't understand.
Unbelievably disappointed that the sales exec has not guided me through the whole process.

Good luck with the handover tomorrow, and try not to let the other stuff ruin it for you.

It is disappointing to hear these stories though. I think some OPC's are becoming somewhat arrogant and complacent now, knowing that the cars virtually sell themselves.

I agree with Schuey - really enjoy the time tomorrow and take pics. A couple of things - take photo ID with you - I was asked for it. Also if you are needing for insurance or planning to activate the tracker (£270 ish per annum) then let them know in advance so the system is prepped and they give you the two black thingies. As part of the handover you login to the car using your My Porsche ID and password to link it all together too. Only afterwards do you actually activate and pay for the tracker..

Good luck and enjoy the car

Don’t let the clowns ruin your day @Dixy

If necessary, ask the sales manager for different SE. Or, even better, ask the receptionist to hand over the car to you and let her pocket the commission. That will teach them 😜

Yes, its all about the car. No matter how bad the clowns are, they cant spoil the car.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Fwiw I don’t rate my dealership experience or SE too highly either!

Not sure my SE even knows how the functions / pre sales process works - either that or can’t be arsed. Not sure which is worse lol!!

All being well a couple of years until you have to head back.

Enjoy your car and as you can see you’re certainly not alone!!

I was a tad distracted yesterday.
The car is so far all I hoped for and more.
A small road trip scheduled for today and tomorrow for us to get to know each other.

The hand over was such a wasted opportunity for the dealership.

My dealer emailed me today to confirm that car is built today (finally!) after probably waiting for longer than everyone else on the list. Hopefully will get it in 2-3 week. Exciting times ahead hopefully.

If you want to punish the SE give low scores on the survey. That’s where they actually get their commission. They have to get 9s and 10s any less they lose their money.
