Does anybody know when we are likely to see one in the UK?

I really need to see/touch/sit in one before I commit my spec for ordering…

Not much talk about this model on here though.
I am a bit perplexed there’s not many colours or options to choose from.
I must admit I’m finding it a little bit difficult to get excited about…. Are others the same?
I hear first cars should arrive June/July.

Yes colour choice isnt great, buy my24 cars should have PTS available.

I'm very exicited about it. Will be the perfect 911 for winter use and im looking forward to get my hands on one!

Does anybody know how many cars are coming to the UK?

Me. I think it's awful. Just another bizarre attempt to give the Tubers and Flippers something to get excited about.

Come on Mumsn3t, where’s your sense of fun? I think it looks terrific and not unpractical either.

If it helps, I dislike the vloggers, TikTokkers and YouTubers as much as the next person, but if they’ve one use to society at all it’s if the potential publicity means that low volume and slightly nuts ideas like the Dakar get to production. Otherwise we’d be stuck with the major manufacturers only ever making things that would sell in volume and at a profit.

Hmmm

I hadn't thought about Tubers or Flippers in my choice of car, do you think I should consider this part of society....?
Maybe I should choose something that these guys aren't interested in......

What do you suggest Mumsn3t?
And what is awful about it?
I appreciate its different and not a normal 911, if such a thing exists..

I personally would use it for all winter driving, daily uses and on British roads and our weather it should excel..
I am just not excited about it yet like my touring for example...

I think it's a silly fad which is being sold solely based on rarity and hype. It reminds me of when I used to commute to work on a motorcycle. Without fail I'd see at least one GS rider with all the silly boxes and fog lamps....... on the north circular. Looked ridiculous and way over the top.

In terms of the car, I've had at least 14 911s', I love their proportions, the ride, the noise etc. This thing is just wrong proportionately and is ugly IMO.

Also, I can and do regularly track both my 911s. Wheres the nearest desert or frozen lake? A pointless eyesore used for bragging rights and flipping.

But I'm just a bloke on the Internet.

Me too, just another bloke on the Internet. But if we all agreed, it would be a lot less interesting.

Btw, I’m nine 911s behind you, but with every intention of closing the gap, albeit unlikely to do so in a Dakar. Because of the availability, that is, not the abysmal aerodynamics… smile

I actually quite like it. Although, full regalia wouldn’t be my choice. Prefer a subtle PTS.

Of course it is pretty nonsensical as a normal road car, even on the UK’s decrepit roads.

But, in fairness, no more so than a be-spoilered, caged and stickered GT3 or GT3RS, which is also intended for off road use.

I object to this statement, it is more sensible than Agri-Rover in town! :-)

Usable on any uk track....... unlike a dakar. There is no practical application for that car in the UK. It ticks one box and one box only "look at me I'm special ". That's the fundamental difference between the two.
Imo.

Are agricultural Land-Rovers more usable in the city?

Equally as daft imo. But at least there's an application of use within a few miles. Wheres the nearest desert?

No, no, no, to keep it in the family...

Citroen 2CV with flat-2 boxer motor, next to Boxster with flat-4 boxer and finally the 911 with flat-6 motor.

I think its a fantastic idea. Yes, there may not be any deserts nearby, but i'd imagine quite a few will be on the way to the middle east where there is no shortage of sand!!

As for the UK, its the perfect 911 to take on somewhere like the the NC500 in the middle of winter!

Whilst I love it, it's hard to see how it would be better than a much cheaper C4S on winter tyres on any normal road.

It really needs to be owned near vast sand dunes or long but not severe off road trails. So basically Australia, Middle-East and West/South USA, perhaps Spain?

That said 90% will simply languish in garages like all the other special editions.

I take it you dont drive much in the UK?! That description seems to fit pretty much any road other than motorways in the UK.

I'm hard pushed to drive more than a couple of miles these days, without travelling over poorly surfaced roads which send a judder through my Macan!!

I’m warming to it.
Could be that the smaller wheels and tyres, and better suspension travel, improve the ride, comfort and NVH on compromised British roads.
