Meh.

But at least the (generic air-cooled) rear spoiler design is getting better each time somebody new has a go.

Do you think so? I liked the singer mini ducktail when it first came out, but the more I see them on literally every resto mod, the more I‘m tired of them. This has grown too big for my liking.

The idea of the original 964 design is to have a clean line without spoiler when you don‘t need one.

It's not clear (to me) from those photos, but I thought this one had a fixed spoiler, but with a not-too-ugly/small profile, whereas the singer-fashion-version looks to be too small when 'in' and looks naff when 'out'.

....no I'm wrong, it's same as the singer - the reflection of the upper part of the spoiler made me think it was fixed...
Here's an overexposed version

ETA2 hehe and if you are going to publish exciting reflection photographs of your 380k GBP car, make sure all the panels in-view are straight hehe

No I'm not expecting to be loaned one of these for a road-test.

I like it! Would love something like this in my garage alongside the 992. Very cool.

One of the joys of an old air cooled 911 is the way it rides and deals with I would say almost thrives on our country roads….small (and light) wheels and big sidewalls combined with the weight of the cars are a big part of that. I look at this (specifically the wheels and low profile tyres) and think it’s going to deliver a driving experience closer to a modern car than the cars it is trying to look like.

It’s stunning work and so much passion goes into it. I think early cars deserve a sympathetic restoration and to be enjoyed as fantastic classic cars. With the 964 it’s a bit more tricky as it sits in the middle of old and new. On balance it’s probably reasonable to go down the restomod route. Will they lend it to me for a weekend to try?!

Makes me want to drop the keys off a tall building.
