Where does the current market see this on a private sale
2016. 991.2s.
10 months opc warranty but nearly due the 8year service
Only 15k miles
Full porsche history on time thus far
Big spec car , roughly 20k options
Inc pdk, 18 way adaptive seats, chrono, pse, carbon interior pack, pdls, f&r sensors camera. Mint throughout.
Etc etc.
I’d love to be in that at £58k-£59999

Dealer would be asking high 60’s all day long. And get it.

There are a few more shocks coming, only the dealers on here are still talking the market up and the jokers who think prices have gone up the last few months!
Yes there has been no sudden collapse but prices are still tumbling and end of 2024 ain’t going to be pretty!
Same old story if you see a car you like with the right spec and it’s a cash buy and a keeper then no drama!

No way, that’s a 30k car possibly lower!

Prices are falling faster than a guy who’s shoot didn’t open rofl

I’d agree, high 60s easily

Safe buy at £60k considering the near £2k 8 year service quote? Or £1k at an independent specialist?

Porsche have had this similar mileage one up for i think 3-4 months and hasnt sold.

Another question. Is it possible to extend the porsche warranty without another 111 check while it still under warranty and up to date? Or to extend it do you need the 111 check again ?

Think the 111 point check is free if extending the warranty and it has a full OPC history.

In my experience the 111 point check is only free if being serviced at the same time...... otherwise OPCs charge for it

My service is not aligned with my warranty renewal. Just ring an OPC before the warranty expires and pay.

Similar value Q for another 991.2, this 26k miles C2 -

https://www.truevehiclesales.co.uk/vehicle/porsche...

No service since Aug 2020 but ad says it will get a major service at Colchester OPC before sale.
Is no service for 3.5 years too much of a gamble? At £55k it seems quite cheap vs similar cars...

Presume if they paid for the major service (and any repairs the OPC identify) then this car would qualify for Porsche warranty no?

You can extend the warranty as long as the car has Porsche warranty without the 111 check, although I don’t know if the warranty is transferred on sale if that makes a difference. I’ve extended mine 3 times without it being checked

I just bought a similar car… 2016 Cab low miles and very high spec with nearly 3 years OPC warranty for 69k.. seems about right

What I find strange and can’t get my head round is the amount of private sales that are as much or even more than Opc prices. Must be a case of just so they can tell the wife it’s for sale to keep her happy with no intention of realistically selling!

I think people actually think their car is worth the silly prices they're asking and are just deluded. My rule is never try to understand the thought process or mind of a crazy person. I'm currently on the look out for a cheapish BMW estate car. I was recommended this. Ok it's not a Porsche so maybe not relevant but I'm shocked by the asking price. How can someone actually believe their car is worth this. And you can tell by the amount of words in the description they genuinely believe it too.

People still have in their minds what their cars were worth six months ago so it feels like they’re taking a loss….and they probably think “it’s nearly Spring I’ll get the money for it in a couple of months”

Natural inclination is to run losses and realise profits which is why so many people don’t do well when buying and selling equities for themselves. The one that goes up 20% gets sold pretty quickly…the one that goes down 20% gets left for another day.

The realistic person will sell for less now, the not so realistic will be selling for more than less when a sale is not forthcoming.
Some have still got their mindset in cloud cuckoo land of 12-18 months ago!

Delusional or not they can ask what they want, their car at the end of the day, they mustn’t be to fussed about selling either from what I can see.

Fair play to them, if I was selling I’d do the exact same thing.

Well, if they are willing and able to hold it long enough... they should see the value rise, but... it might be +10 years from now, when you can no longer buy a brand new flat six that we are enjoying right now biggrin

I think prices are still dropping. So you're better selling sooner rather than later. Unless you believe the market will return. Then you can wait and hope. But the car will cost you to just have it sat around. And then if prices do continue lower you will need to wait even longer. Or maybe even forever.
