997.2 GT3 Register
Discussion
Having acquired my 997.2 GT3 August last year I am interested to see other people’s cars so wondered about using this thread as an unofficial 997.2 GT3(non RS) register. If you are happy please can you post up a picture of your car and rough spec. I read on a dealers website that there were 130 examples registered in 2009-2011 of the 2256 registered world wide. I also read that there were only 40 Clubsport spec cars? Obviously keep your location private. As for Riviera Blue examples, some say there are 3, some say 4 and even a rumour of 5 :-)
My car is a Carrera White non Clubsport with factory fitted folding buckets, dynamic engine mounts, front axle lift, navigation and steel brakes.

Of course st happens and two weeks after picking up the car I fell off my push bike and broke my tibia and was in a brace for 12 weeks, so not had a great deal of time behind the wheel. it is a superb car to drive, very analogue and engaging, just what I was looking for. I have found the gear change a challenge but I feel I am getting to grips with it. Also found heel and toe a lot different to my Caterham but starting to understand the amount of foot movement required.
The steering is lovely, hard to describe as it has a great feel but is also a bit light when pushing on. The clutch is heavy but I really like the weight of everything but it does take time for the gearbox to warm up and the gear changes feel cumbersome at slower speeds but fantastic once warm and at a decent pace.
I really love the interior, the car feels so well built and the materials are first class and although the car feels old compared to modern cars it somehow just seems perfect. I sat in a 991.2 GT3 in Porsche Bournemouth but the interior seems a little fussy in comparison. Infotainment is dated, not sure whether to go with a carplay upgrade or leave as it?
So far I am happy with my purchase, can’t wait to drive it more in the summer months, would love to take it to the Alps when I am a bit more adept at driving it well.

V similar to mine, white, comfort but factory fit folding buckets, leather dash, red belts, steel brakes no lift.
I have had it since May ‘19 and love it.
We’ve been to the alps in it and a couple of great Scottish road trips as well as more local stuff.
A couple of track days, one sodden so just a few hours of gingerly lapping and one super hot one at Donington summer ‘22, fun but my PS4S didn’t fare well so again just a few laps.
Fab car... I hope you enjoy it too

Now that is the sort of background I want to photo mine in front of. Mine has red belts but no extended leather. Hope I can do a Castle Combe track day in the spring, don’t want to go ballistic but need to open her up a bit. Probably stick to the Caterham for most track days as tyre and brake wear is small. Mine came with Cup2s so suited to the track.

I think these vanilla GT3’s are great cars and often overlooked in favour of the RS. Owned mine since 2011, which says it all really. PTS Clubsport; Carrera GT bucket seats, PCCBs, FAL
Indeed, the vanilla 7.2 3 is an underrated car - I think mostly because RS's are considered collectibles and the vanillas are not. Mine is a Carrara white "comfort" with silver wheels, PCCBs, folding buckets and a white centre console. I love the car to bits and drive it as a daily - with winter tyres during the cold season

Fantastic. How has the underside coped with the regular winter driving?Mine is a Carrara white "comfort" with silver wheels, PCCBs, folding buckets and a white centre console. I love the car to bits and drive it as a daily - with winter tyres during the cold season
My 2009 CS
I believe the only option it has fitted is cruise control and that was a retrofit by me! Many would wonder why but it's a long way to the Alps and inevitably involves substantial motorway miles simply getting there and back. Scottish tour in April which I can't wait for!
Did Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France via the Alps last September (pic is approaching the peak of Col du Galibier). The car was epic!
It's my perfect car. Modern enough to be totally usable but still so analogue and the sound of that engine at 8.5k rpm
