Hi all, I've been looking at 991.2 Turbo S cars since before Christmas but inevitably the 992s have now piqued my interest.
Would it be silly to go for a 992 Turbo S now (March/April) given the gen 2 is imminent, when they're not only more plentiful on the used market, but also quite a leap up from 991.2 money?

What would you suggest? And what should I look out for with your recommended model (resale spec and/or common issues)?

i'd wait until the gen2 is announced as it's said that there's some big improvements coming which in theory should lower used values of the 1st gen

spec wise i'd personally try to go for the lightweight package with proper seats smile

Isn’t it the case that there is quite a delay before the next generation Turbo becomes available, it’s the specific model that will be most changed with the new hybrid systems and technology, and a significant price rise ?

It’s possible it will be a great car, but it might also move even further from its origins, and be even less relevant as an enjoyable road car. Time will tell.

I wouldn't want the carbon buckets as I intend to use it mostly for touring. I've already dismissed a GT3 because I want something softer and having spent quite a bit of time with a 991.1 GT3 it's too harsh for what I'm looking for.

fair!

if you're going to be sticking a load of miles on it then might make sense to look for the highest mileage example in the colour you like with the comfier seats smile

True. And this is partly why I'm unsure whether now is a good time to jump in. If the new gen reduces the prices of all older used models, will that affect the 991 less than the 992? I suppose what I'm most concerned about is losing loads of money when the finance deal is up and I've got to decide whether I pay off/refinance the other half or move onto something else.

It's tricky to find anything with high miles at the moment! And 991.2s seem to be thin on the ground compared to 992s, which also makes me wonder whether that'll be the better buy.
I had originally been looking at cars around the £100k mark but now I find myself looking at £140k rolleyes

I understand from my local dealer that the 992.2 Turbo S will be late in 2025 - the last of the current models have been delivered so theory being that the prices should firm up.
There are some cracking deals to be had at the moment, so strike now!
The car is immense either way!
All just IMHO
Graham.

Is that Shark Blue? There's a perfect spec (for me) one for sale on PH right now but it's out of my price range.
Yours is stunning. Wearing my personal favourite wheels too.
