PDK - Sports Chrono
Discussion
I have just bought a 991S with PDK and sports chrono and it's amazing, so pleased with it. Having never driven a PDK before I have a question relating to the sports chrono function.
When i press sport or sport plus mode it totally transform the car from the standard mode, which in comparison feels a bit lazy and much less sporty. My question is in a car without sports chrono is that it? The car stays in the comfort mode all the time unless you go into manual?
Don't get me wrong, its fine in standard mode for the motorway or around town but the sport and sport plus modes turn it into another car altogether and I would be gutted if that was it all the time.

My old 718S was without SportsChrono, and still has a Sports mode button (but no Sports Plus mode button)
Even in Auto setting on the PDK kearstick, using the Sports mode button would advance timing, raise idle and cause more backfires with fuelling the exhaust. It sharpened the throttle response, but did not have the active gearbox / engine mounts that come with Sports chrono.
Sports Chrono adds PADM, even more aggressive shifts/ mapping over and above Sports setting, and gives you launch control function AFAIK
You don’t get the funky each chronometer if you don’t have SC option
