I was half tempted to go for the Burmester, but opted for Bose in the end.
The Bose system is by no means the best setup in the world, but IMO it's more than ample and easily worth the money it costs for the upgrade.
I'd still love to hear the Burmester even if it meant kicking myself for being that bit too fight to spec it!!

Don't forget to lift the plastic flaps by hand first when raising the roof, or it will all end in tears.

Flick the console button (this releases the boot lid)
Lift the boot lid up, grab roof and pull it up to the windscreen header.
Close boot lid.
Find stupid button on flap one and release it from the roof, then (no need to press stupid button again) just push flap into the boot lid hole.
Top tip- just put pressure on the far end of the flap to secure it in place, you should hear a click sound, you can double check its engaged by looking underneath and seeing the little red mark on the clip.
Repeat for flap two.
Back into the drivers seat, with one hand pull roof forward to the windscreen header with the other flick the console button so the latch pulls the roof forward and the Windows go up.

Simples ..... ish
You've done it !!!

Good luck

Not quite so simples.

There's a warning in the handbook about damage caused by lifting the roof without first raising the plastic flaps. The roof side-rails can snag under them, especially if you are in a hurry and not pulling the roof nice and straight.

I've read that, but I'm not so sure...
All the review videos I've seen no one seems to both.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone has had any trouble with these.

Cheers

I have.

:-)

I got one side a bit stuck doing it in a hurry. No damage done, but I think it was a close call, as it did manage to jam quite firmly. The underside of the flaps isn't the smoothest or flattest of designs.

Good to know... I'll be taking a closer look.

thanks

Hi I've been lurking around hear for ages. It's a fantastic forum for knowledge and chatter about our beloved Spyder's. I wanted to add after ringing Porsche OPC today that the rear grilles behind our seats don't have any speakers in them, if you've got SPP. We don't know what's these grilles are for, is it for pumping engine noise into the interior or maybe for theBurmeister or Bose setup (I've seen this mentioned in a forum over the pond). Maybe others on here can confirm if there is music coming out of them. It could be a generic apperature which is configured to individual countries. I asked the OPC where are all the 9 speakers? He said there are hidden speakers behind the door cards, in addition to the speakers behind the door grilles.

I think your OPC is spinning you a yarn. Look at the previous few pages on the forum. My OPC has admitted the sound system hasn't been built to spec. I await feedback. Watch this space.

Can anyone on here that has spec'd CDR Plus/SPP on their Spyder confirm they have the rear speakers & that they work? I see from a previous thread that yourself & a few others who did spec it have not had the full working system.

When you guys aren't timing yourselves putting the roof up, anyone know if they are building these until June/July, same as the GT4? Looking for an allocation!

Depends how hard it is raining...it takes me around 2/3 mins never been an issue in putting up or down the roof and it is totally rain proof never had a drop inside even in thunderstorms . Have to say the roof line looks nicer in the 987

Not sure but I think you have missed the boat..You could try and email every dealer and ask the question .A few at the dealers for sale depends how desperate you are for one ..How much over invoice value are you prepared to go to secure one ??
