Keeping mine too. It was always the intention when I bought it and after 7,000 miles I'm still absolutely loving it. I'm one of the few who appears to enjoy it more than my previous 987 Spyder.

Mines a keeper 8800 miles and counting - really can't think of anything I'd prefer : would only swap for the next version (as long as nat. asp "improved" version.)

Hello there, what would you say are the main positives for you with the 981?

You managed it then. When you described the trip to me at OPC Leicester I thought 'wow that's a lot to do in 9 days'. Great pictures.

Off to on a short Euro trip, myself, in a couple of weeks. Both the 987 and the 981 Spyders make great touring cars but, for me at least, the 981 has a little more 'something' that my previous Spyder lacked.

Left for dead - Better noise (presence) and a little easier to drive on long journeys. I think the 981 is a lot better looking that the 987 but that has nothing to do with how it drives

Where you part of the group staying in the hotel on the Petite St Bernard yesterday? I was in the grey 981 Cayman S that went past first thing in the morning as you were all stood outside?

All, I currently own a 987 Spyder and I do enjoy it immensely, it is something that I wanted to own from 2010 and one thing or another something always got in the way. Anyway, I managed to get one last November.

The trouble is, whilst it is the finest driving Boxster I have ever driven, I do find it too compromised and I do like my cars to be kind of a bit more capable as all-rounders.

I guess I am just getting bit too old and fat to be in a bucket seat.

My car has 18 months OPC warranty left and has just clocked over 10k miles.

My questions to the P/Head collective is as follows: -

1. What do you replace it with?
2. What might it be worth?

To assist with Question 1. I have been fortunate to have a few nice tasty morsels along the way - I think the car miss the most are my 997 GT3's but I just cannot bring myself to pay what I did 10 years ago for a second hand car when my car was brand new back then

To assist with question 2. My Boxster Spyder has all the options, Spyder Alloys, PDK, Sports Chrono Package +, Carbon Buckets, Full Leather, Alcantara Steering Wheel Upgrade, Sports Exhaust, Sat Nav & Air Con...

I really do love it - but I am finding it a bit too much of an indulgence if I am honest.

Thanks in advance

Sorry , been lurking for some time. Got the itch to change car again and really would love to get back into Porsche ownership. I've been looking for a while but think I'm being too fussy. Either that or the spec I'm looking for just aren't coming up for sale.

Ideally looking for a manual 987 spyder, any colour but not black. Had too many black cars!!!

Manual and buckets and AC that's it. Low mileage and some warranty would be ideal but not a deal breaker.

I've recently driven a 981 GTS PDK which I must say was impressive but I just don't like the looks. Also would have preferred the Manual. In relation to the 987 PDK is it comparable to the 981?
Maybe I just need to be patient and try and wait it out for a 718 spyder.

Currently driving a lovely 1M if anyone fancies a change 😊

Hi Timbo
Unfortunately you didn't speak to me as I've never been to Leicester OPC (I'm sure it's very nice though!!).
Must have been another PH Euro tourer ...

I've never tried along trip in a 987 Spyder, but I can't see it matching the 981 for a 8/9 hour blast down through France and Germany. Which obviously leaves more time for big twisties :-)

Someone else with a red 891 Spyder, who very recently went on a Euro trip smile. I'm guessing then that you don't then have a problem with fuel not cutting off when filling. It's either that Or I was dreaming - which is not all that a daft possibility.

Collected a beautiful Spyder last night. Manual, 7,000 miles Buckets, Spyder wheels, PSE. Driving home with a huge grin.

Cannot imagine ever putting the hood on.

Thanks to all on Pistonheads who helped in the search.
