718 Spyder around 18 months away.
No PDK option.
As previously posted, likely to be far more expensive than 981........ parity pricing with 718 GT4 expected also influenced by role and pricing reversal between Cayman and Boxster.
Likely premium post launch otrc + £20k +.

Good question on the new engine for the 718 Spyder.
As its not officially a GT car, who knows whether it will be na or turbo.
The GT4 will undoubtedly be na probably with the powerkit but detuned engine from the old Carrera S.
Would like the think the new Spyder would be similar but there are no guarantees.
I followed a 981 spyder as i was leaving Cardiff thursday night and i thought it was the best sounding car i've heard in a long time.I'm sure my old GT4 never sounded that good.
In the next round i am considering a 982 Spyder rather than the new GT4 as it may complement my PDK GT3.2 best.

IMHO 981 Spyder sounds soooo much better than the GT4 - however can’t knock the 4 for looks and poise (Spyder not half bad either) both great cars darrenheysham said:
Hi - Been looking for an interesting car for a while, and keep coming back to a 987 Spyder. After having a great 986 S, followed by a 996 C4S that needed an engine rebuild, I am looking for something that can restore my faith in Porsches.
I am looking for a manual 987 Spyder in white (with silver Spyder wheels), with PSE, SS and Chrono plus being desirable. Beyond that, I am flexible on the spec. Looking to keep the car for a while. There are a couple of cars that meet my needs listed currently, but would welcome suggestions from anyone here. If you know the cars listed, then it would be great to hear if they are solid cars. Thanks.
Hello Darren, mine is the 'private seller' car listed (in Surrey). Black / Silver rim wheels being the only deviation from your wish list. A recent OPC service means no further expenditure until Sept. 2019. Drop me a message should you require further details. Best of luck with your search.I am looking for a manual 987 Spyder in white (with silver Spyder wheels), with PSE, SS and Chrono plus being desirable. Beyond that, I am flexible on the spec. The 981 Spyder does sound epic.... I still can’t really believe that it’s legal in our nanny state. In the next round i am considering a 982 Spyder rather than the new GT4 as it may complement my PDK GT3.2 best.
I agree a GT3 . 2 plus Spyder would make a fantastic garage.

Sadly my recent outing in the latest 991 GTS was a massive let down when it came to the sound from its PSE!In the next round i am considering a 982 Spyder rather than the new GT4 as it may complement my PDK GT3.2 best.
Porsche definitely hit the sweet spot with the 981 Spyder soundtrack and have now gone well & truly off piste IMO
Now off for a nice summer day blast before the correct weather for October kicks in later this week

new spyder will be a 70k basic price i reckon.no matter what engine is in the back.
Yep and would be worth every penny relative to other 718’s if it is NA There was a spyshot of the 781 Spyder on the GB POrsche Club web site the other day. It was in convoy with 3 of the 992 next generation 911 The exhaust on the Spyder was VERY diferent from 718 with two outlets midway between centre and side of car very similar to current 991 This might indicate a flat 6 ? This could of course be the new turbo or NA unit I also think taht the price point for the new car will be higher than the 981
