Boxster Spyder

You know, I rally didn't realise just how much I liked the 981 Spyder until recently...and this thread has really cemented that feeling for me.
The blue one above is gorgeous and I've seen an Agate Grey one for sale recently that looking incredible, too.
Does the roof make it as usable as a Boxster, or is that not quite as perfect as it may seem?
Roof is an absolute doddle and I agree the manual interaction just makes it feel special and interesting - once you know what you’re doing it’s really , really easy The blue one above is gorgeous and I've seen an Agate Grey one for sale recently that looking incredible, too.

Oh and the car is simply brilliant - best fun per £ equation than anything I currently or have owned - they are brilliant cars.
Enjoy
My intention is to get myself into a position where I can by the 981 as a 3rd car and garage it over the winter etc. I always thought I would go running like a schoolboy, back to the 981CGTS, but if the 981Spyder can match it for exhaust note/sound, then I will seriously have to adjust my plans.

I see the 981 Spyder as an every day usable more hardcore car over say a Golf or a 2nd car if the misses has a Golf, for a 3rd car which you sorn for 6 months of the year you need to be looking at the older models or another brand imo.Porsche911R said:

I had 2 CGTS before buying my 981 Spyder. I had no intention of replacing my CGTS, until I took out a Spyder. If exhaust note/sound is your main concern, the Spyder imo doesn't just match the GTS - it is superior. Especially with the roof down. By what you're saying I think you'll love the Spyder.Ha ha - thanks gents. I got out of the CGTS for a couple of practical reasons which is why I am being realistic about aiming to get one as a 'weekend' car. Unfortunately that means I need to build the finances up a little bit more in order to do things that way. So targeting next autumn/winter to try and pick up and out of season bargain. (if there is such a thing!)
I could be wrong but i am not sure the Spyder will be any cheaper in the out of season periods due to how many there is of them. I guess time will tell!
It will be interesting to see which way prices will go for the 981 Spyder if there is a 718 Spyder and what engine that will have! If the 718 Spyder is 4 pot that will be very good news for the 981 and the 987 i guess!

If anyone's interested I'm seriously considering selling my lovely 987 spyder as I now have other priorities .
Not had her long , car has around 18 months Porsche warranty left too and had £2500 spent at the Opc in May on brakes, tyres, geo etc etc .
It's white manual buckets PSE short shift black spyder wheels at under 15k miles . Also completely mint .

Had a quick trip out this weekend with a mate in an Ariel Nomad. The nomad was bonkers, great fun for the price and received far more attention than the Spyder when parked up. I won't be changing as I fell in love with the drive of the Spyder all over again; but maybe an additional toy might be worth thinking about....

Oh now you've done it!I was quite content with my 100K miles Pejaro and the assumption that for the foreseeable future my sports car days were done, while I spend some time working down here on in the Falkland Islands. Now me thinks 'Nomad, Hum?' Could it possibly work?
How good are Nomads off road?
