Quite surprised you ended up with a Spyder ?
just ticking off some ownership boxes and experiences.
Also want to do a photo shoot of the 2 cars for a project I am working on.
Don't think I would want another 981Spyder , wouldn't mind trying a 987 Spyder however not at the prices that I have seen them advertised just cant see how they would be worth the £25,000 premium over a standard 3.4s.

Good luck with the GT3 I missed out not a good enough customer I guess.

If you ever want to scratch the itch again I have a very similar Yellow GT4 with all the necessary bits as you know maybe we can have a play at Donnington later in the year.
Yep be great to get the GT3 on track, any time :-) just let me know.

Nothing is worth more if you look at it like that, you have to look at cost of ownship over all.

It's the only car I have kept long term they are a nice thing the old ones.

My 981 Spyder has now been sold to a private buyer for mid seventies money, through PistonHeads, advertised on Thursday, sold on Saturday collected Sunday. I listed it on EBay and had 984 views and 15 watchers. All in all, an excellent response.

I hear what you are saying but cant see why I would spend the extra £25,000 on something that is essentially the same car ? are the mechanics of a Spyder significantly upgraded over the 987 S model or is it just bodywork and roof that makes it different ?

just doing man maths £25k saved would get me something else pretty special as I am also debating on getting a Mk1 Elise and doing a Honda Kswap.

True £25k is a lot more, but a Boxster S drops in price the Spyders been going up.
As I said it’s cost of owner ship not the cost of buying I find has stood me well over my car buying history.

How did you sort cleared funds on a Saturday out of interest for such a large amount.

Don't know in his case but with fast transfers now taking minutes, it's not a problem. I've sold a couple of cars (albeit for smaller amounts) where the buyer has turned up, made the transfer on line and we've waited until the funds cleared before releasing the car. If you inform your bank in advance that you are intending to make a large payment it's not an issue in my experience.

I have done pretty well with my cars in over 2,000 cars can just about count on my digits how many I have lost money on, Porsches have financially seen me ok but I have never bought from an OPC and always bought private for my personal use and not really bought with resale in mind.

I bank online with Santander and with electronic transfer it can be done 24/7. You just have to check (not through the App) whether the funds have cleared, that the funds are in your current balance and not in uncleared funds. For me, it just took a matter of minutes (on a Sunday). 100% safe, I think!

Good luck with the sale, I hope it was as straightforward as my sale.

Saw a lovely 987 white Spyder parked at David Lloyd, Hampton/Twickenham, lunchtime today.

Anyone on here?

I am with Barclays and they have a 15k limit. Or they did last year when I tried to buy a car on a Friday night and the app refused to let me. I spent a lengthy time speaking to various [insert word for non english nation] support people before i was informed of said limit. I had to get a friend to transfer the rest otherwise i was being told by the seller to pay some today, go away and come back the next day and pay the rest. No thanks!
