I bought my Spyder off Jimmyp so if it’s a date that works for me I would happily bring another along.

Picked up an 987.2 Spyder from 911 Virgin a couple of weeks ago. I've wanted one for ages and could not be happier.

Manual;
Sports Buckets;
Short Shift;
PSE;
Spyder Alloys;
Extended Letter;
Aircon;
SatNav;
Ipod;

But no Cup Holders scratchchin

Already been round the NC500 in it. Looking for a few more run outs before winter storage.

We were considering buying this very car until we saw the 'deposit taken' sign come up on the ad!!!
Sorry about that. I moved quickly and bought sight unseen. I’d dealt with 911 Virgin before so knew I could buy with confidence. Such a good car, reminds me of my old Elise’ but with more grunt and none of the rattles!

Yep it’s the closest thing to an Elise Porsche has ever built for sure.

Yep, owned for a month, I'm not entirely bored of it yet...Either, I might sell it now or I might buy one more example in black, park them next to each other, and then sell both of them...

The black one at 911Virgin is the only credible one that I might consider.

You are an unusual character, they aren't the easiest car to sell this time of year!

Thank you for the advice, I agree with you, I have a strange habit of 'accumulation', either I have a choice of letting go of it now, or adding 1/2 more of the same identical car in different colours, I haven't fully decided yet. Again, the ones on the market right now are all odd spec examples except for the black one at 911Virgin, see what happens...

Coupled with the fact you also had 6 Cayman Rs at one point, have you cracked alchemy or something? Best of luck with your search!

After posting on here a little while ago that I had decided to get back in to a Spyder after chopping my last one in for the GT3, I finally picked the car up and took it for a proper drive last week. If I’m honest I was a little subdued on collection day - I wondered if I was being a little frivolous buying a second ‘fun’ car and began to doubt whether this was really necessary or the best use of funds. That feeling stayed with me until I drove it. It all came flooding back and I remembered how much I love the 981 Spyder. I’m not ashamed to say I think I love it more than my 991.2 GT3, in an everyday smiles per mile sense. Possibly not a great time of year to collect such a car.... but hey ho. I’m very happy to have this beauty (and the incredible sound it makes) back in my life.

I recently did a 991.2 GTS PEC session and left super impressed with the model but no way could I live with the soundtrack which was very muted despite PSE being ON!

When I told the instructor what my current Porsche is much to my surprise he said you have the best sounding Porsche out of any of the sports cars they currently make today

My only GT3 experience is a late 997 version and the sound track was massively underwhelming IMO

Enjoy the Spyder and you never know we might have a cracking mild short winter so plenty of fun days out still to be had beer

Actually now off for a short sunny blast as it would be rude not too

I keep looking at these, and have had lots of good reports. One question - does the exhaust make 'fake' pops and bangs? Would spoil the noise for me.
(I'm sure this is answered somewhere in the thread, but it's very long...)

As stated YES ...think only if you have the PSE buttons on cannot remember ...tbh it gets a bit boring after a while...but the exhaust note is the best around on full chat .

thanks. Is it the same every time (same number of pops, bangs etc)? RS6 did this and it drove me mad..
