After posting on here a little while ago that I had decided to get back in to a Spyder after chopping my last one in for the GT3, I finally picked the car up and took it for a proper drive last week. If I’m honest I was a little subdued on collection day - I wondered if I was being a little frivolous buying a second ‘fun’ car and began to doubt whether this was really necessary or the best use of funds. That feeling stayed with me until I drove it. It all came flooding back and I remembered how much I love the 981 Spyder. I’m not ashamed to say I think I love it more than my 991.2 GT3, in an everyday smiles per mile sense. Possibly not a great time of year to collect such a car.... but hey ho. I’m very happy to have this beauty (and the incredible sound it makes) back in my life.
This is an amazing looking can in white, I recently bought a 987 Spyder on impulse, and was going to buy another 987 Spyder in black, but not now....Im in the process of autumn (spring) cleaning my white 987 spyder.
I polished it all up last week and now im in the process of taking the wheels off and giving everything a good clean inside the arches.
It's just difficult that its so low I have to drive onto several planks of wood first to get trolley jack under it!!

And there was i thinking you were only joking when you said you missed it when i bought your old one.I took my wife out Saturday in mine for lunch and we agreed one of the most enjoyable fun car i've owned..I told her that i think i preferred it to my GT3, then took my GT3 out yesterday and i enjoyed it equally albeit different reasons. It looks just like mine except from the white roll hoops which is a nice touch..We'll have to meet up sometime for a Spyder reunion..Depending on what comes next i think these will hold on to their values, when you take into account that only 229 were registered in the UK.

no planks needed to drive on, it's not that low ! , just trolley jack, wheel off and give it a clean :-), very straight forward.
I tend to use Vira-Sol Citrus Based Cleaner/Degreaser , great product for arches.
Wow ! Did you take any course you could recommend? I want to start dyi’ing my car maintenance when hopefully I get myself a garage next year ! I tend to use Vira-Sol Citrus Based Cleaner/Degreaser , great product for arches.

my MOT man was a bit amazed lol
One of the very 1st ones made also, not bad for a soon to be 9 year old car and it's been well used :-)

Good luck with the sale, Im off finishing my deep clean on mine today
Thanks, please post some pictures if possible.Edited by Fizzbomb on Tuesday 9th October 10:01
To be honest mine is loads better than it was and ive polished wheels and cleaned all wheel bolts but I only had hot soapy water for arches so I've not got it as perfect as MrD's yet. I will buy some Degreaser for the spring and get it perfect then. Will get some pics done at that point. I quite enjoyed doing it even if it was 8 hrs work spread over 2 days.
Im going to start collecting fresh valeting stuff now over the winter along with a new low profile trolley jack ready to really go to town on it in the spring.
The more I get it looking perfect the more attached Im getting to it.
