Long may they continue to rise...definitely a classic years down the line ..had mine 5 years now and it has cost me nothing to run inc services /insurance/ RT if you take into what the values are now and what I paid back in 2013 .

Thank you very much, as that information really helped my decision.

I test drove (and bought) a Carrera T from Porsche Colchester. It's Guards Red, like yours. What a fantastic car!
Glad to be of help.

Make sure you post some pictures!

So any thoughts on when the Spyder will be launched?
Before or after the GT4?

Can somebody explain to me why prices of 987 Spyders are so high in the rest of europe especially in Germany.....
This is also true for the 981 Spyder which are more expensive to buy used in Germany than GT4s.

There are so few on the market compared to GT4's too and very few with a good spec...
£80k seems the min for a well spec'd car now meaning extended leather, PCM, buckets and possibly carbon.

Can’t believe that my ages old Spyder thread still runs so successfully.

Or that it has become a Carrera T love in.

Can’t pretend not to be quite pleased about both!

Spent a lovely afternoon out in mine today and called in to the PCGB track day at Oulton Park. Lots of lovely motors there but still really pleased with my T.

It's been a real treat to read all the comments on this thread...

Germans are just much more patriotic than us Brits. The Brits make the best srivers cars IMO such as Lotus,Caterham,Ariel Atom,BAC Mono etc..Only the Brits know how to make true lightweight fun cars,

Probably a result of simple supply and demand.
U.K. has a population of 66million. Germany has a population of 82million. France, Germany and Italy combined? 200 million. I know they produce more LHD cars for the rest of Europe than the do RDH cars for the U.K. but I’m not sure it’s in proportion to the number of prospective buyers.

Mind you. Shmee150 was supposedly able to walk in to a mainland Europe OPC and order a GT3 so perhaps my theory is bunk.

The Evora weighs more than a GT4 :-(

the new Exige weighs over a ton now and has a high C of G :-( and the price is daft.

Elise's are fun though but even they have gained over my 1 st Elise.

Caterham feels dated when driven in a bad way(also I don't fit in the narrow body and the larger body feels wrong, Ariel has gone turbo, BAC single seater and now daft price also gone turbo.

I think you would be shocked how good my little 987.2 Spyder is NA, passive sprung, 1250kg car, only the Caterham had a NA engine !!! Atom, ALL Lotus and the BAC are all turbo :-(

987.2 Spyder - Yawn! Its too slow! I literally used to get overtaken by kids in Fiesta ST's!

when has a 10 second 100 mph been too slow ?

very odd comment. go check out a Fiesta 100mph time ! btw

some forums posters do make really daft comments ! the cars no slower than 997 Gt3 to 90mph or a V8 BMW etc etc.
I just think you must hate driving, but that seems the same answer from the new breed of Owners sadly, ie. would not been seen dead in a £40k old car no matter how good.

It felt a lot slower then a V8 M3! smile

I was just having fun with you David, you're very defensive!
It handles very well though...

Pretty much the same straight line performance.

I’ve moved into a 987 Spyder from an M3 CSL and if it’s a slower car then it must be marginally so because I can’t feel any difference. This makes it more than fast enough for the road in my book. I’d say the Spyder is the better handler of the two too.
