JZM have just got a Voodoo Blue 981 Spyder in stock....I remember seeing this car in their showroom a couple of years ago. Looks great! For some reason it’s been serviced with them and not an OPC though. I am sure that’s not an issue mechanically but no idea what that means for long term warranty i.e could you extend it ?

Great looking car, any ideal why it would have 3 stamps in the book already?
looks lovely, believe it would need a major service at opc prior to porsche warranty being put on it. Don't think I would bother though tbh, love the colour.

Maybe the owner had running in oil service etc?

Yes possibly.

Bizarre decision to have the car serviced outside the OPC network. Probably saved around £100!

I would say that will adversely affect the value of the car.

As will the absence of PCM. And to a degree the highish mileage.

Otherwise good spec.

Why? There is no running in service scheduled + 1st service should have been 2018 so it would appear to have been done twice 2017 & 2018 confused

Would Porsche refuse an official warranty due to car being serviced too much laugh

No running in service was scheduled for my GT3 but I still had one done. Pretty sure I am not alone in doing that!

What mileage and what did they charge C out of interest?

I had it done around 1400 miles. Had it done at RPM which was just under £300....they’re open on Saturday mornings and I don’t need an OPC stamp for that.

Thanks. Will probably get mine done at 12 months old next March after the winter recess.

Yeah, I only asked as I purchased a 2016 in April this year, it had a service while at OPC, next one due 2020, don’t understand how a 2 year old car can have 3 stamps, with 8000 miles on. So we’re saying a running in service 2016, and 1 each year?

Seriously "highish mileage"!!? People's perception of mileage these days has become absolutely ridiculous.

Not really.

All newish Porsches and any car in this price category never mind those over £100k are clearly affected by mileage value wise. And why wouldn't they be?

It would be bizarre for someone to pay as much for a higher mileage car as one with lower mileage.

No different to say a £7k 3 year old Astra where 1 with 10k miles is worth c £400 more than the same car with 20k miles.

8k miles is highish for a Spyder just over 2 years old. Especially when most have less miles.

It is what it is.

Yeah....I wouldnt touch that car with a barge pole...its had an extra service that wasn't in the schedule...no doubt now rendered totally worthless

I really dont know what some of you have been sniffing......

And another thing....how on earth can 8000+ miles be ever considered to be 'highish mileage' ???

Yes I find it quite bizarre Porsches finest engineering goes into these halo cars (as indeed do other manufacturers) and yet they are hardly driven in order to preserve value. If one is worried about ownership costs why buy in the first place ! (I do of course know the answer to that question - flippers!!) I admit that I am not a high mileage driver as my Porsche is a hobby car only but I do drive it at least a couple of times a week.

Probably an oil change and a later service plus a brake fluid change. All will be stamped.

If there's no Bluetooth that alone is the kiss of death also given absence of PCM. I could live without the latter but not the former.

Kiss of death ...hardly! mine was order new by myself and has no Phone /Satnav. In a Spyder which potentially is most peoples ownership is a weekend car so why the need for it . If in a daily I can see the possible benefits but not essential ,just bought a top of the range SUV with EVERY conceivable extra specked by the previous owner ,used the phone twice no big deal and if I sell the 981 Spyder no issues the price will reflect the spec ,do not have either in the 987 Spyder and that has not hindered the value of the car at all . Each person has their own must haves, there is a bum for every car out there .

A spyder without PCM will sell just as easy as one with , with little difference in price all else being equal!
The PCM in the 981 is not that good so I didn't order PCM in my GT4 which sold no problem and if I was in the market for a spyder/gt4 lack of PCM would not be a deal breaker but I do think Bluetooth/DAB is! The sound package plus has these and USB so I feel a car should have this as a minimum.

Hey I only asked as I have one, a 2016 model which had a service in 2018 and that’s it. I was a little concerned I’d missed something. Mine has 7000 miles on which I’m gutted to find out is now leggy!!
