Chris when i eventually find one it will be identical to yours. The 2 I am still 'negotiating' on with very little success at the moment both have black wheels which I really don't like. I adore silver wheels so if I do get one of the 2 I am looking at we could do a wheel swap and save money on having painted.

The truth about current prices are no-one is moving much from advertised prices, esp.private sellers, OPC seem to have more wriggle room. I must have called about every white car currently for sale, the only ones being reduced have the 918 spyder seats which contrary to opinion and all I hear are the seats no-one actually seems to want as they are uncomfortable and its the folding buckets that appear to have a premium over the 918 and comfort seats.

I should just buy one of them but I just can't bring myself to at the prices currently being asked with almost no discount when I know there may be one around the corner at £5k less, there always is, usually just after I buy! ATM most private sellers are asking over OPC money! Crazy!
Let me know once you have one regarding the wheels although as mine only has 1,200 miles the wheels are mint and I might still choose to keep with them.

I was only interested in a car with 918 seats as I loved them in the GT4 and being tall they give the height adjustment which I prefer over the heated option on the recliners.

The Wilmslow white car is the cheapest decent spec at 75k.
Seen that car in the flesh and you would insist on a full paint correction as a minimum to even consider buying it. Someone had no idea how to wash a car! And the wrong seats for my search when I was looking. Also been there (like the Chester OPC car) for months!

A lot of Porsche independent are more expensive the OPCs for 981Spyders I have noticed
The JZ Spyder has been up for 80k since the - beginning of Nov still not dropped a penny.
Plenty of Indies look the same so yes maybe better off with a good spec from Pc for mid 70s
That JZM car is SoR so It’s really the same pricing dynamic as a private seller....they’ll only reduce it if the selller wants to. Being PTS on something like a Spyder that’s probably worth a bit in a good market, less so at the moment...and to be honest don’t really think Voodoo suits the car.

They were only £59k and came with buckets. Meaning a top spec car was only £66k

So that’s the price to sell it if low miles, less if more miles.

People only want to pay list, just like GT4 prices which now look far better value than Spyders.

I feel I was lucky to get out mine at £67k last autumn.

Same over priced cars been for sale a year, very odd.

New list for basic 981 Spyder was £60.5 including folding buckets..The LWBs were an expensive option and seem to be very desirable on used Spyders,,In fact the Spyders which seem to be selling at top money are white ones with LWBs..Purely by coincidence mine is a Carrera white with LWBS..Its not for sale, however if somebody made a good offer i'd consider letting it go..
Trouble is my 458 Italia makes my GT3 feel slow which in turn makes my Spyder feel even slower..If i got a Macca 720 it would undoubtedly make my 458 feel slow.
Power is truly addictive however sometimes the rat race has to stop.

Hi, can you compare your Spyder to the 458 please? Curious as I fancy a 458 spider sometime to replace my 360 perhaps.

Not really comparable to be truthful..I loved driving my Spyder all through last summer with the top down even more than my GT3,,Since autumn the Spyder has been used sparingly as i prefer my GT3 if the weather isn't conducive to top down motoring..
The 458 feels much more special to drive compared to my Porsches which you would expect from a Ferrari with 200 BHP more than the Spyder,,The beauty with the 458 is sensible gearing which truly makes my Spyder feel way too highly geared.
The build quality of the 458 really surprised me especially if its a top spec example with all the carbon and racing seats. If i'd gotten a 458 Spider i probably would have sold my 981 Spyder but sometimes i love driving top down especially night time. The 981 Spyder feels like a cart on rough roads compared to the limo like 458.
The 458 with 570 HP and lower gearing makes my GT3 feel slow by comparison so i only feel like driving my 981 Spyder top down weather permitting..

Pretty much sums up why I didn’t buy a 458.
They are also huge and, depending on colour, and very much ‘look at me’.
Depends what you want from a car. The welsh roads are perfect for smaller lighter cars, so the Spyder excelled.
The 458 is a beautiful Ferrari IMV, for a modern, far more so than the 488, but a PlayStation experience, a tech tour de force however too big , too heavy and too fast for what I want.

I’ll take the Cart, and by default, the ‘drive’.

Yep - even the 360 is too big for UK many roads if I’m honest.

The only way i feel the 458 is big is width, i notice it straight away when jumping into my 458 after a drive in the GT3 or Spyder..In terms of weight its basically the same as my 991.2GT3 PDK Clubsport so not an issue IMO..Its a fair bit faster than my GT3..It revs like a banshee up to 9k revs and even in 2019 it feels bang up to date so back in 2009 when it was launched it must have felt like an advanced alien craft.
The 458 is truly special IMV but so is my GT3 and 981 Spyder, just different flavours.! .When i sourced my 458 i was only looking for a Grigio Silverstone as i didn't want to be the stereotype middle aged guy with a red Ferrari.
For the first time in my life i feel like i have the perfect garage even though i'd love a Lotus Elise/Exige Cup to replace my Spyder at some point..

Mmmm...Cutting about in a 458 in Wales...not for me.

I have just sold a 997RS as too big, quick for the roads. I had a 991.1 GT3 and felt the same.

My mate in front was having far more fun here:

https://youtu.be/F0sZUXKRxsE

Again, it depends what you actually want, and unless I lived at Spa, cannot see the point in a GT3/458 when the smaller lighter air cooled or Caterhams are so much more fun.....

I think the modern V8 Ferrari (and the spyder for that matter) make brilliant euro trip cars, but yes, in Wales/UK roads you’d be better off in an old air cooled car or an Elise/Exige for the fun factor.

Spyder is sensational on alpine passes though, as I am sure a 458 would be. 360 is too washy / understeery to really dig in on alpine passes, yet oddly enjoyable as a banshee sounding euro tourer!

Yep, i agree both GT3 and 458 are way too fast to fully exploit on typical welsh B roads..This is primarily the reason i can't see myself ever buying something like a 720 or 488, which with twin turbos would render them even more frustrating to drive than a 458..
In all honesty my Spyder is plenty quick enough and when i get an Elise/Exige will be even more suitable for B road blasting..None of this dilutes my enjoyment of the GT3 and 458 which are both very special cars in their own right..In fact both might be very long term keepers as the latest offerings don't appeal to me.
I think the GPF has killed off NASP cars IMO and i'm pretty confident it will ruin the second batch of RSs...that is if they ever do materialise in the UK..!

How much was the GT silver paint and red/black interior though Richard?

My white one with standard buckets titanium carbon and red stitching etc etc was £67k from memory.

think my GT3 would have a 458 licked down the strip ;-)

as for prices, top spec when I speced one was only about £66k, was a cheap car to spec, it comes with most things inc the better buckets which in a spyder you can have heated ;-) not resale spec non heated 918 back killers lol

Lots of us (me included) prefer the 918 seats and the height adjustability they offer - especially when you’re 6ft 4” tall! I’ve always found the 918 seat very comfortable and I would take the height adjustment (and visual appearance) of the 918 buckets over the heated benefit of the standard buckets. Each to their own and all that....
