Crikey it seems we think alike after all despite our childish spat on the other thread.I love my 981 Spyder and 458 equally and honestly i've been seriously considering phoning my OPC on Monday to inform them i no longer want the RS.
I have a 992 coming which i'm looking forward to and to be blunt if an RS WP plus watch plus poor p/x will be £XXXXX i won't be able to afford it anyway..I'd have to sell either or both my Spyder and 458 to buy it.
It looks like in a month's time i'll have a 992,Spyder and 458 which will be plenty enough for me..
I was considering a 992 as a replacement for my Macan Turbo DD, interested to hear you’re thoughts on the 992 once it arrives.

I honestly don’t regret my decision one bit, especially after reading here about people being forced to buy the watch to get the car. The whole dynamic between Porsche dealer and customer is broken in the UK right now.

Anyone know anything about the 911V 987 Spyder with 47K miles? Any previous owners of it on here?

Good to see the Spyders are starting to come out of the garage. Brought mine out of hibernation on Sunday. Weather not nearly and nice as the shot above but the roof came off regardless.

No, it was me. The car is off to New Zealand.

This will be my fourth car with an UK connection. My Cayman R was ex UK, as is my ‘99 Boxster and I exported a ‘93 Turbo 3.6 to the UK a few years back.

I know of two NZ new cars. Neither has ever come on the open market. I don’t know of any imports either. So it’s either import or go without.

By the time I’ve paid shipping and taxes plus a few other incidentals the all up landed cost increases by 33%.

The mileage apparently put the UK buyers off and I see the PDK theme is still running after all of these years (don’t you guys get bored with that?) but neither faze me. I have two Manual Porsches already. This is the spec I wanted. It will be used on sunny days for back road trips and weekends away with my wife. It will also see occasional track days. Looking forward to it.

BTW what is the battery disconnect switch option and what is the Lifestyle Package?

Thanks Richard. Hope all is good at your end.

This is my 8th Porsche and the 987 Spyder is an itch that needs to be scratched. Sorry but not sorry to pinch one of the UK stock. It’s a PDK, so you won’t miss it wink

BTW: Have you seen the Turbo in your travels? I don’t think the new owner posts much if at all on the forums.

Hi John, we’re all very well thanks.I don’t think he posts, we exchanged a few emails when he first got it but nothing lately. I must admit, I really miss that car - no idea why I sold it really - dumb move frown

That’s not helping !

It was this image that I randomly stumbled accross online that started off my quest to find a 3.6 Turbo - it’s bizarre that I actually ended up finding & buying that very car by complete chance - it’s such a pretty car : better to have loved and lost & all that jazz ..... )

I’ll shortly be joining the Spyder club.. only dawned on me in the last couple of weeks what a lot of sense these make, price point/looks/noise etc.. and perfect for summer trips! This is it.. a nicely specced car in my opinion although I may change the wheels to platinum or silver tbc in due course!

Beautiful Spyder that especially with the PCCBs and yellow stitching. I have a Carrera white one and the car i choose for a summer evening drive over a 458 and 991.2GT3..Its Porsche doing what it does best IMO..Lightweight,perfect 6 speeder and lovely NA 6 cyl engine.

ETA I'd leave the rims as they are..Agate,Black wheels and yellow PCCBs my favourite Porsche colour combo.

This does seem to be the general consensus that even those with bigger faster cars still opt to take this. I’ve had a GT4 and still have a 991.2 GT3 so will be most interesting to compare them all. I liked the GT4 a lot but lacked a little drama in comparison to the GT3. From what I can see the Spyder adds drama so this may just be a winning combination!

I'd tend to agree having both a GT4 and a Spyder (981), that the Spyder does add a bit of drama to the equation. You might think they should go and sound the same but this just doesn't seem to be the case exactly.
For me the Spyder 'feels' quicker, 'feels' more agile on windy roads, and to top it off sounds better or 'angrier' than the GT4, even with the roof up.
For a country road blast it's the Spyder I take pretty much every time, even if the roof has to stay up.
I do put more miles on the GT4 but this is mainly for track days, with many in Europe.

I have a white Spyder with factory silver wheels but sorely tempted to switch to black. How many miles does your new car have and are you maybe interested in a swap?? Mine have just 1,300 miles and are all perfect so would want the same / similar in return...
