First UK 718 Spyders to be delivered 3rd quarter GT4s fourth quarter.
And that's the concern how residuals will be affected by a new model coming to market.
Hopefully not too much as the newbie will cost circa £12k more List than the 981 (before ticking any boxes) It will be quicker but will it sound as good or loud now it has those GPF shoved up it's PSE eek

In the meantime I am more than happy to motor on with my current Spyder cool

In fairness the 981 Spyder is surprising good fun on track based on today's Silverstone track day outing..It hasn't got the GT4's cornering speed due to its inferior tyres however it has sublime balance and pretty fast along Hanger straight..Great car IMO and i'm really looking forward to see the specs of the new 718 Spyder..If the new Spyder has the same track credentials and Cup tyres as the 718 GT4 then i'd prefer the former over the latter..

Sadly the standard Boxster electrics on the Spyder and PTV ruin the 981 Spyder as a track car :-(

The GT4 esc and TC was amazing and plucked from the 991 RS.

As you say if the new Spyder has the GT3/GT4 bits it will be the pick of cars.

Thought long and hard about this. Not the right time to buy with new model around the corner plus I wouldn't be satisfied with a manual roof. I know the idea is to have it down all the time but we're in the UK and parking it up somewhere will involve a faff. Not for me. Admittedly they look great.

I've just talked myself into the GT4 when I know where we're at rolleyes

I would actually prefer the semi electric roof of the 981 over a fully electric which will be in the 718.

The added weight of those motors. Not good.

PTV kills rear pads I guess but why would you have esc and tc on during a track day? Not really known to bite are they.

How concrete is your info regarding the 718 Spyder's roof being fully electric..Seems very strange especially when you take into account that the vastly more expensive 911 Speedster has the part manual part electric roof..

If that’s anywhere near close that’s 30 cars roughly for each OPC....based on the increase in numbers of .2 GT3’s seems possible.

Looking at the spy shots of the 718 the roof looks near identical to 981 so can't see how they can make it full electric?

If the £211,000 Speedster has a mainly manual roof I can;t see a £70000+ Spyder getting anything other than what the 981 version received especially as it looks to be exactly the same roof again and why fix something that wasn't broke and why change the ethos of super light sports car in Porsche speak confused

Exactly. Is "av185" confusing the Spyder with the Boxster-6 ?
