Lovely car indeed! Were you looking for one for long? Enjoy.
No, not really.Wasn't really on the radar at all..then read a bit about them and they ticked a lot of my boxes...light, limited numbers, a bit quirky...which to me in this day and age suggested limited depreciation, whihc is always attractive.
I test drove the black one with PCCBs at Ashgoods - but it had 8 previous owners which put me off a bit. And I cannot do a black car...too hard to keep clean.
Then saw this on PH, was not too far away so went to drive it. Was a much better drive than the black one for some reason - felt more responsive, quicker and just a bit better. So deal done.
Only thing missing is the lightweight buckets - but I really wanted PCCBs, as I think it easier to to replace seats than the brakes. Very very happy with the car. For a 10 year old car it feels just modern enough to be reliable and has very good headlights, but not so modern that it has dead steering, too much weight and a PDK.
Only mod I think will be to take it to Gert Carnewal for the exhaust - it is pretty good as it is, but fancy a bit more bark.

Mega aren’t they :-) is this the 3rd car without radio etc.
PCCB 987 Spyders are rare as hens teeth, but the brakes rip your face off on a car this light.
Enjoy it, not much better at any money out there to drive.
No, this has PCM 3 and A/C, and cruise and the directional Xenons...PCCB 987 Spyders are rare as hens teeth, but the brakes rip your face off on a car this light.

Agree with money point - at £35k this is a LOT of car. And got full OPC warranty, so had any niggles sorted before I bought it. Cannot wait to get the roof off - it has been a bit rainy in Surrey and it is my daily...

Better to change the manifold and get a real 350bhp than the back end of the system , also sounds mega. Tried to give mine a little run today.... battery said no. Put a jump pack on and battery still said no. Windows, lights, dash going bonkers.
Had it before, battery knackered. Unfortunately from a lack of use.
Ordered a CTEK charger to see if that helps with current battery. If not, then new battery and the CTEK will help maintain it hopefully.

In relation to the last post, I’ve bought the cigarette plug adaptor for the Ctek.
Is anyone else trickle charging using this on their 987? Does the 12v socket stay live?
Reading differing things on different forums.
I can confirm that this works a treat on the 987.2, with the added benefit for the Spyder that the cable routes nicely through where the two piece roof meets, so you don’t need to trap it in the door seal either. Is anyone else trickle charging using this on their 987? Does the 12v socket stay live?

Same here, 987 Spyder, CTEK charger and cigarette lighter connection with it going between the top of the window and the roof. Not going to jinx it as the car has probably sat for the most of the whole year doing nothing, but so far the charger has done its job.

So collected the car yesterday in the pouring rain but today the weather brightened enough for a quick spin. What an awesome machine. I now get what folks talk about when you run this thing in sport plus and the engine sings. On the B roads near me that car has way more power than I am going to use. Plan a trip to the PEC to try on the tracks up there. Roll on Spring.

I negotiated a PEC day when I bought mine last year but I note that they're still advertising the 981 Spyder with the GT4 variant as a 'mid-engined' experience for £425 which might be worth doing. SGBrown said:

Arrived really fast, got it plugged in and charging. Whether the battery is totally knackered is a different matter, but we’ll see. But going forward I’m sure the ctek will help keep a new battery in better condition.
Yeah, wire through the gap in roof will work nicely.

Just been quoted £1314.00 Porsche centre Brooklands for the four year service on my boxer spyder they said they will match other pic prices charged if I show proof ! Can anyone help?
I've booked my Spyder in with my local OPC for 4 year service and they agreed to match the Porsche Total Transparency price (sadly now removed from Porsche website) of £995 which includes everything (oil service, brake fluid service and spark plugs change). Work being done 23rd March.
I suggest you call a couple of other OPC and see who will match the £995 deal, then if you really want to use Brooklands give them the option of matching the price. Let's be clear - there is nothing clever about the 4 year service and it a maximum of 2.5 hours work for any competent technician so i'm sure having a £995 sale is better than never having a £1,314 sale....!
