Yes I think I was the 8th owner. It was very well looked after though and had been under warranty it’s whole life. Don’t recall the exhaust not working but I rarely used it anyway.
It had a massive spec and aircon, never seen another like it, but the black was a pain to keep clean! PCCBs meant the wheels and hubs were spotless though

There’s low mileage and no mileage... just 303 miles.

This has been for sale all year, all value in mileage, look how few Miles the latest owner has done. Pointless car really, as if you want to keep any value in it you cant drive it. In manual, it would be one for the collectors, but pdk limited appeal at a price above 45k imo.

Poor service history as well if I recall due to not being used

If that was a manual car it would have been gone a long time ago, at that sort of miles service history not a problem just factor in new oil, tyres etc and drive it.

So after 10 years of thinking the seat was too high in the Spyder (Bucket seats) I solved it today with the very technical solution of taking out the seat pad! I was amazed how thick it is. Makes a huge difference and exactly what I wanted. I’ve replaced with a thin car cushion from Halfords. It’s brilliant. Sit perfectly in the car, much lower. Feel a lot more of the road as well.

I concur, and had the exact same issue in my Cayman R. I ordered the Tarrett seat lowering brackets from the States and fitted them.
They did improve matters, but only marginally.
I subsequently removed the seat base cushion and tried that.

Perfect !! ...

But painful due to shape of the seat base shell. I ended up carefully folding/shaping a towel to reduce the impact of the “humps” in the base shell. It provided the perfect driving position, but wasn’t overly comfortable on long journeys !!
Broad summation, stunning looking seats that just didn’t suit my frame frown

I had an old 'halfords seat cushion' which ironically I'd bought for the GT3T because that was too low! It fits perfectly. Feel a bit like Goldilocks: Folding Buckets too high, 918 Buckets too low. My perfect seats are my 4-way Sports Seats in 911GTS.

I am the opposite ..have an extra piece of foam wedge shaped that I sit on to raise me up to get a better view ..5-8 short legs so sit close to wheel in the 987 found the same issue in the 981 I had ....tried the 918 seats in a 981 and with the electric height adjustment worked ok for me ,but do not come with heaters but to be honest non heaters in 987 and not an issue as not used over the winter .

If you need to repaint your front bumper and are concerned about colour matching. Just paint it white. The colour of the rest of the car is irrelevant.

New Tyres. Just replaced all 4 original tyres on Spyder 987 after 10 years! However, car doesn’t feel as ‘planted’ and the steering feels light? Does that make sense it am I imagining it? It’s on the Pirelli P Zeros again.

How many miles on the new tyres now ? Still less than 100 ? If so, it'll be combination of the release agent used during the tyre's manufacture, less of the new tyre's tread being presented to the road and the tread blocks being deeper and more flexible, oh, and possibly differing tyre pressures too.

Why did you not change to MICHELINS ? a far better tyre that's what is on my 987 Spyder from new only done only 13k miles ...dont want to get into an argument but all reviews say P not good in wet .My 981 Boxster has P on them and do not fill me with confidence ,if I still have car when tyres need changed defo MICHELINS. On my every day YETI car has MICHELIN cross climate ,would not put anything else on great summer an winter

Hi, I didn’t question what the OPC was putting on them so they replaced like with like.

I will ignore the D heads comments above.

Thanks, yes still less than 100 so that could be it.

I replaced the tyres on my 981 with Pirelli’s too this year - I’m not a driving god nor do I drive on the public road like it’s a race track and I find them perfectly fine. There again I’m also happy with the steering, fixed bucket seats, a painted interior, a red car that I bought in Scotland, black wheels and having it serviced at an OPC - so perhaps I’m just the exception that prooves the rule.

Enjoy your car.

When did you buy your Spyder in Scotland ,as far as I was aware only 2 red ones existed in Scotland .I have had mine coming up for 8yrs bought from Edinburgh OPC . I was told the other one was also owned by a person in Edinburgh .the only other one I have seen was in Glasgow OPC in 2013 but that had PDK and Sports seats and went down south .
