My 981 Spyder out of hibernation for its MOT on Friday - even that short drive was a joy. Everything crossed for a relaxation of lockdown rules so we can use them!
Cars looking superb and ready for action so roll on easing of lockdown restrictions. Are you still working with Sharkwerks these days as I’m interested in a rear box cross pipe conversion?

Yes we are, PM me your requirements and I’ll see if I can help. Are you still working with Sharkwerks these days as I’m interested in a rear box cross pipe conversion?
Think we all need to get out and drive once it’s permitted - it will never have felt so good!

It's my unicorn spec, the asking price is what it is-you just need to square it up with what you're willing to pay.
What I would say is I wish the owner all the very best with his health issues.
Stunningly unique car and perfect for a collection. The owner is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly posters on P'heads and i wish him and his family the best of luck in the future. What I would say is I wish the owner all the very best with his health issues.
987 Spyder owners just a couple of quick questions:
-Is there normally a white sticker under the bonnet on these cars, the same as the one in the service book?
-If the car came fitted with carbon buckets and Spyder wheels, were they normally listed in the option code list (on the white sticker), or as they were standard equipment, would it be normal for them not to be listed on the white sticker?

No white sticker under the bonnet or boot on mine. Mine (RV10WJY) had spyder wheels & folding carbon buckets factory fitted from new, happy to email you a pic of the service book sticker but can’t upload a pic to an email through PH unfortunately. Option codes listed C16, XNS, 424, 446, 490, 695, 810.-Is there normally a white sticker under the bonnet on these cars, the same as the one in the service book?

White stickers stopped around the time of the 987/997 introduction, or at least Porsche only supplied one sticker (instead of two) so they usually got stuck in the book rather than bonnet. Some variance with production dates will apply but a 987 Spyder will be long passed having both being a run out model.
Just taken the Spyder out of hibernation after the long winter though based on yesterdays weather not sure winter has quite finished with us yet. As a result of our not using the car a great deal thinking about selling, apart from Piston Heads where else would anyone recommend advertising. its a lovely car, only 10.7k miles and Im the 2nd owner. some will say Im a heathen as its PDK not manual but tbh I think the PDK is fantastic. It has extended leather, PSE, Sports Chrono, black Spyder wheels, carbon buckets is spotless and was ceramic coated by Paul Dalton of Miracle Detail
What are you looking for it ? Prices are strong a 9.500 ml is up at £49.995 at Ashgoods at present but is manual, it has full OPC history but requires a minor service in 5/21 and tyres are original with that you would need to factor in a £1800 bill to get in spot on if they are not prepared to do it as part of the deal.

Hi AndyI sold mine a few weeks ago, I had a poor response rate from Pistonheads, zero from PCGB and best response from Autotrader.
I had one private buyer after mine really nice chap but we couldn’t quite agree numbers if you DM me I will send you his mobile, it might be worth dropping him a text before advertising.
Regards

For me it is AutoTrader followed by the various Facebook Groups such as "Porsche for Sale UK" and the Spyder specific ones obviously.Between those two options, you should hit anyone active in the market quickly. It then really comes down to price like most things...
Just to add to the above... not everyone in the market is a FB user! I’m always looking for the right car, albeit I have a car I love (don’t ask!), motivated buyers use all options, it seems you will get the best audience here, PH classifieds, AT, Car & Classic is good plus the ever present bay (but prepare for the wallies).
I have sold all my sports cars on PH Classifieds, happy with prices & not too many drongoes, time wasters etc. Plus unusual vehicles seem to sell well here, with a wide audience. Good luck

Anything over 20k I think autotrader is still King.
Lots of traders pick stock up from there and sold quite a few over last few years straight to trade at decent money.
I always pay for the advertise till you sell option at about 80 quid but it does the trick and you don't have to worry about your advert running out of time!!
Not cheap but when you look compared to px or wbac offers it's worthwhile imo

I've recently sold a 987 Spyder, it was advertised here just before spring and I had a good few offers but turned them down. It then went quiet for a while and I ended up taking a much lower offer (you can't win them all). Since selling, I've had about 8 guys phone me asking to buy the car so from that I can deduce; to sell a Spyder you really want to be advertising from April. 987's seem to be in the region of £5k up from 2020.

Yes, agree but you can get hit hard and fast if they are. FB presents the sale in their stream rather than the buyer going and looking for it so a different dynamic to traditional classifieds. You have to price the car well though as only get one stab at attracting buyers.Edited by Andyoz on Tuesday 4th May 17:23
