Largely depends what you want to use the 981 Spyder.
Great useable package at the money (new) as an away weekend car.
As a focused drivers car relatively not so great imo.
Focused enough for me and many others. It never was intended for track work.Great useable package at the money (new) as an away weekend car.

Depends how focused you want a road car to be though.

Plenty for my limits as a driver, but others on here are clearly highly skilled in extracting all the intricacies that Porsche provide.
I’m not.Its not about a car that’s set up for the track and it’s not about ringing it’s neck on a public road - at all speeds it simply feels different; more agile, planted and responsive - I prefer it, but I also love the feel of a 991 GT3 on the road (But then again, I genuinely believe that all 911’s should feel like a GT3)
We’re all different - no right or wrong here - all I was saying was, for me personally, I prefer the feel & the engagement that the 718 gives you on the road

Same here. The GT3s are for me what a 911 should be about. An event at any speed - being tight, direct and responsiveIts not about a car that’s set up for the track and it’s not about ringing it’s neck on a public road - at all speeds it simply feels different; more agile, planted and responsive - I prefer it, but I also love the feel of a 991 GT3 on the road (But then again, I genuinely believe that all 911’s should feel like a GT3)

Fair enough, but for me the noise let’s it down. Its not about a car that’s set up for the track and it’s not about ringing it’s neck on a public road - at all speeds it simply feels different; more agile, planted and responsive - I prefer it, but I also love the feel of a 991 GT3 on the road (But then again, I genuinely believe that all 911’s should feel like a GT3)

The 718 GT4 sounds better on the videos, not sure why.

No way.The 718 GT4 sounds better on the videos, not sure why.
A stock 991.2 GT3 sounds far better than a stock 718 GT4 both inside and outside the cabin.
The variable induction noises from the GT3 engine alone are truly amazing.
To be expected though having regard to the far more sophisticated higher revving GT3 engine and lack of gpfs.

Was talking about 718 Spyder and 981 Spyder sound. 981 sounds much better to me.
I then mentioned that the 718 GT4 seems to sound better than the 718 Spyder on the vids that I've seen.
