I am thinking of having my 3.4 Boxster S taken to 3.7 or even 3.9. Has anyone done this? Who did you use? What are the results like?

just buy a 405bhp 3.8 GTS engine and sell the one you have.

Not sure a Boxster needs more than 350BHp any way.

I agree in that they don't need a great deal more than 350 horse. I've got cargraphic plenum, throttle bodies, manifolds, full exhaust and ecu to match, so might have something approaching that anyway. What I'd like is a dollop more torque at lower Rev's, and a capacity increase should give me that. A 3.8 gts engine might ruin the balance of the car. But maybe a 997.2 3.6 engine would be good. Where do you buy complete engines and would that be a more cost effective route than boring/stroking mine? I emailed Autofarm today asking for prices.

Do they fit though? Engine, gearbox round the wrong way compared to 911? Is handling compromised?

Lot more expensive but speak to RUF on how to perform a desirable engine change in a Boxster/Cayman.
