I picked up my CGTS today. I opted for sports suspension (X73) without having tried it, and was a bit concerned that it might give too harsh a ride. For those considering it, I just wanted to say that it gives a great ride in my opinion - not harsh in a "sports" car sense. I've been in a lot firmer, bouncier cars, to the point that you'd think mine had the conventional suspension. The ride on PASM in normal mode must be very smooth. Also, the steering has a good weight to it as well. It does not feel electronic to me, but then I don't have experience of the conventional, hydraulic version for comparison.
Cool, as I am collecting my BGTS tomorrow with X73 !!

I'm sure you'll love it. Very enjoyable even when driven slowly.

Lovely looking car - looks great in yellow. Very muscular.

Re: brakes, to me I would say the disc size might be less noticeable if the wheels were silver? I like the black wheels though.

Not having a dig at the owner of the yellow car , but why just have the outside of the wheels painted black rather than the whole wheel ?

Satin platinum for me every time.

The brakes astheticly do look a little lost behind the wheels but they are very effective non the less and that's what counts.

Lovely look car congrats...

Probably costs more to mask them up, than it saves in paint?

Never liked it, or seen the point myself, either paint them black or paint them silver?

If anything, it's more intricate/detailed doing it the way they do rather than the whole thing just painted black.

I know there are some who dislike the part painted look though. Biased, I know, but I prefer the part painted look.

Thank you for the kind comments. I suppose my intention was for the car not to be another of those middle aged men's dull looking Porsches (though I am one of said middle aged men!). Let a sports car look like one! I am pleased to see this appears to be a common trait on this site.

Thought about PCCBs but had read so often that the standards were very good I thought i would stop with the very long options list. SS and PTV are in place so hope to try at least a couple of track days.

Gongratulations Mr cibble, stunning looking car, never been a fan of the boxster but this looks very muscular and well resolved, enjoy your new toy!

BTW, haven' t managed to read all the article, ecoty 2014 sees Cayman gts in 3rd place after 458!speciale and f type r coupe. Excellent performance, according to the journos let down partially by the long gearing (manual car) and by the front end feel with the nose sometimes pushing wide.

I'd read about the gearing and confess to having chosen the PDK box (as deduced I am sure by the steering wheel photo with buttons thereon). I had the PDK/DCT on my Cayman R and loved the feel and sound of the gear changing so wanted to replicate that. I was tempted by another Cayman but wasn't so keen on the back end (missing black fixed spoiler perhaps, which now looks as if it might appear anyway!!???). Anyhoo, felt like a convertible for a change too. Living on Guernsey we might be restricted for speed, but at least I can enjoy the sun cool

I have the same wheels and brakes but painted a different colour and I never noticed my disks looking so small. I think maybe the white inner rim lightens up the area behind the wheel a bit making them appear smaller. I know the other pic is rear and this is a front but here's a pic anyway.
