How are everyone's exhaust tips holding up? 2 Years old and 6000 miles and I'm not happy about the quality of them, almost look like they are corroding.

I have the chrome tips (S-PSE) and have found that a quick squirt after washing, with silicone spray, stops the soot from eating into the surface? Any 'stubborn' stains come off with a light rub of autosol, mostly in winter due to salt? Had black tips on my GT3 and did the same with those, although being black, I rarely resorted to the autosol, maybe the colour would rub off eventually?

One year in and mine are fine. I'm not a fastidious cleaner so maybe that's helped them keep their black coating?

I have chrome tips on my S, and it's really annoying how filthy they get. But a bit of Jif every now and again always cleans them up (rightly or wrongly!)

I had the black ones on my BGTS changed under warranty as they were corroding after 18 months. Was told it was the cleaning products I was using. Didn't have the heart to tell them that they'd cleaned it more times than I had....and that all I'd used the 2 times was autoglym shampoo hehe

Thanks for confirming, the OPC confused me by saying 0W-30, I had already ordered 0W-40, they have now confirmed 0W-40.

I knew someone mentioned it, they are taking a look at it tomorrow during its service.

Yep - plenty during the cold months, less so recently but deffo when I wash the car. Nothing to worry about, apparently!

I had a huge issue with condensation build up in my CGTS rear lights, my local Porsche centre refused to change them under warranty, I battled them for a long time and finally gave up.

Looking for a CGTS... I know this sounds a little ridiculous / over-the-top, but I really don't like rear wipers. I'm not sure if it's 'cos it looks out of place, or if it's the assymmetry, or what, but can you easily remove them? (eg. unscrew, and cap the area).

Not sure if all cars are produced with the holes there ready, but non-rear-wiper cars just have the area capped with a rubber plug or something?

I am guessing it's not that simple, but really why do people get a rear wiper? I've had plenty of cars without one, and it's been fine, and on the car I have now with one i never use it.

Really spoils the lines of the car for me... frown

My car was specced with no rear wiper as I also hate them. There's no hole and therefore no plug on my rear lid, so I would keep looking for a car without one.

No idea why people spec them on a sports car either.

Because it's useful? It would be considerably more useful if it had a washer too. Function always trumps form for me.

What this man says, look terrible. RainX the screen job done.

Got the GTS serviced on Saturday, then headed out to Wales and covered 200 miles, traffic was really light around the Horseshoe, EVO triangle, Snowdonia. Really love this car.

Each to his own - I assume you don't like the front wipers either and don't use them - they look just as bad. RainX is a bit useless on melting snow or ice and not that great when you are stationary.
