You see, it's not NSL...it's 75mph. To me that's a little close to the bit where if an officer of the law saw it come up he would pull you over and ask questions. Ha ha. I know they couldn't prove you didn't just press the button, but it might end up wasting a little of your day at the road side.
Personally not keen on wings in general - they often look like the afterthought they usually are, and big ones like the GT4s are too boy racer for my taste. That said the normal Cayster ones clearly aren't an afterthought and are pretty innocuous. Apart from the point Phantom makes I wouldn't put mine up manually. That said the use of underbody aerodynamics as the new Alpine does seems like a much more elegant engineering solution and lighter to boot.kustard said:

Ah man! I'm obviously not one of the cool kids after all. Was hoping for some support here.
I'm a wing-upper. I just think it balances the side profile better and doesn't look quite as soft. Each to their own of course After 11 months and 20,000kms, mine is up for sale. Such a great car, very sad to see it go.

I'm loving my CGTS more and more at the moment:
- Plenty of power for the road, too much traffic these days to use any more in the UK
- The slickest manual gearbox I've ever experienced
- Epic soundtrack from the flat-six with crackling and burbling PSE
- Comfy for long distances with Sports Seats Plus and PASM
- Enough creature comforts for day-to-day driving if required (heated seats, parking sensors, reversing camera, retractable mirrors, auto wipers etc)
- Subtle and classy looks in Carrara White Metallic, platinum wheels and silver GTS interior pack

Wing up driving around town - cringe factor 10
Really? No more so than a crackling exhaust in the same situation, surely? Or indeed 'a Porsche' in the same situation! Please note - I wouldn't have the rear wing on a 911 up all the time...I just think the GTS looks better for it.
Not keen on wing up - but surely not cringe 10 - I'd have to reserve that for the GT4 wing. On that scale I'd put the normal 781/981 wing as a 2 and the sports exhaust as an 8.
I'm not sure a Porsche is inherently that cringematic, though a loud colour - purple, bright green, even yellow might set my teeth on edge.

I agree on both counts - I find the car draws a lot of attention but mostly people just staring for a look (have been filmed once by a schoolboy waiting for a bus - saw me coming and his phone came out...).I was giving a friend of mine a lift a few weeks ago and she suddenly acknowledged the fact that the guy next to us in traffic was in full stare mode. I laughed and said, "Yeah, you can't pick your nose in this car". I think that pretty much sums it up.
I can only imagine what he was thinking, actually. My friend was massively over-dressed for where we were going, but she was hitting the town afterwards where I wasn't - so proper 'little black dress and meticulous makeup' style. For that particular journey I think I probably single-handedly set the Porsche owner stereotype back to the 80's. Ha ha!
I don't like black, and I wouldn't have bought mine in that (non) colour had I been buying new BUT it doesn't attract the sort of attention you describe at all. I was talking to an instructor at the PEC and he asked me if I had got a bad reaction from other drivers to my car as it was something others complained about. In fact, quite the reverse, people are courteous, give way, don't cut me up etc etc. I can only really put that down to colour - positive discrimination in action!
What colour is yours?

See I think the GT4 Wing looks purposeful! Is a little OTT? Possibly, but the car is meant to look like a road racer.
Pop up spoilers on the other hand are just plain naff to my eyes. If I see a Cayman, Panamera, TT etc driving around with it raised I just think the owner must be a bit of a bellend!

Agate. I find the reaction is very positive - but for the guys in those little white non-vans (the Transit Connects etc) who seem to have a huge chip on their shoulders. What colour is yours?
And yes, I'm a massive bellend.
Mixed reaction to mine being white and grey so it's very subtle. It's more the noise people respond to rather than the looks. Some smiles and photos, some sneers and a lot of no response.
On the other hand, Mrs Twinfan's MK 3 Focus RS Mountune in Nitrous Blue with black forged alloy wheels gets WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more attention than my CGTS. It's universally loved.

Or is Mrs.TF a proper hottie - and we all know that a hot female driving a niche/specialist car is like Christmas in August. Has anyone else found that their cars can seem rock solidly built one day and then rattle like mad on the same roads and same journey the next day?
I've been putting it down to temperature fluctuation and things expanding and contracting at different rates weather is playing around, but I spent an entire journey the other day apologising to my passenger about the rattles and then they were completely gone the next time I drove.
Not creaks, btw - rattles.
