I'm surprised it wasn't specced more. I chose it as I wanted to maximise performance of the car.

Its not rare on mine biggrin

It will be going up sale later in the year, if my new GTS gets confirmed.

Yours is a great spec, and as it's also PDK it'll sell instantly.

I had PDK, X73 and PTV on my GTS. Street Weapon.

I got PTV as it was the only way to get an LSD... even though its a pretty mild one.

It's on the "Real Nice to Have List"
have you driven a car with it?

had my car for nearly 18 months and still not sold on it personally. not saying i don't like it but it does take me by surprise sometimes when it cuts in and turns the car more than you are expecting.

my favourite options are the spanish 'box, buckets and sports chassis. the latter can be a bit of a pain on bumpy roads, but the rest of the time i really like it. SPASM would have been great but wasn't available on the GTS.

Agreed. I wasn't paying the price of the car for passive suspension though so I went for PASM.

These cars never really feel like they need an LSD, I seldom have any traction issues, they turn in well and they hunker down very well out of corners. I remember following a friend in an M4 in the soaking wet and even with an LSD the BMW was really struggling to put the power down, whereas the Boxster just went about its business.

I like the idea of the LSD side of PTV but not the individual wheel braking feature, would be interested in hearing more feedback from others who have it?

I've got PTV with the LSD. PTV only seems to kick in at extremes e.g. booting it out of a junction on heavy lock. You can feel the line tightening rather than the car understeering. You'd probably notice it more on track when really pressing on.

Its quite frustrating to see that if a engine mount fails in 14K miles if its not under warranty its cost to the owner, i mean that is quite shocking. My daily BMW are abused for 25K miles a year and never have issues or extended warranties.
You misread my post or i was not clear enough - the dynamic mount failure was covered by the original 3 year warranty. As with most cars the original warranty expired at 3 years / 60k miles whichever comes first - the air con condenser was replaced under extended warranty cover.
Just moaning that an engine mount fails in such a short space of time, if your car was out of warranty but mileage so low i.e 4 years old and 12K miles and an engine mount fails surely it should be good will? Piss poor if parts like that fail in such low miles.

Have you managed to test drive. Drove the gts at Wolverhampton yesterday. To be honest, was not much different to my highly specced S. I do feel my manual and ceramic brakes make a difference and the sales man agreed. Slightly disappointed as it did not bring a smile to my face as expected

Again you misread my post - I was not “moaning” merely identifying the two defects i’ve had on my car, neither of which left me stranded, unlike my thankfully now departed daily drive car that left me stranded three times in 18 months - a Volvo V40. Don’t understand the somewhat critical nature of your reply. I would not rely on either Porsche or the dealer - particularly as the dealer I use for service didn’t supply the car - to stump up the cost of the repair. Their likely thoughts would probably be “that’s why we offer the extended warranty”.

I have had extended warranties on all five of the Porsche’s we’ve owned and intend to continue doing so. For peace of mind. You don’t need much to fail on these cars to pay for the warranty premium, particularly if you wish your car to be maintained at an OPC, which again I have always done.

Sorry buddy! I meant I was just moaning, not you. I get what you mean about peace of mind and if something goes wrong then you need a warranty to cover due to costs being quite high.

I had an A3 did 125K miles over 4 years and nothing went a miss, now have a BMW 6 months done 15K miles and hopefully this will not have an issue, but I have never extended a warranty on my daily or any car I've ever owned. Dailys get pounded and do way more miles than the Porsche, yet at 9K miles we seem to be worried if something goes wrong it will be expensive, it just shouldn't go wrong really with that little use.

Only thing i am worried about is if the engine went pop but it really shouldn't with correct maintenance. But then i never had an warranty on my 360. I generally don't like falling into the warranty trap that it can be, you can warranty everything these days for peace of mind. This was never the mentality 10 years ago.

I'll have a serious think, but i can see me giving the warranty a miss and if something does go wrong then its down to me to resolve.

No worries.... I am normally fairly lucky with cars, although luck caught up with me on the Volvo.... teach me to get one I suppose but wanted something comfy and relaxing for the 80 mile round trip commute I used to do prior to retirement. Chopped it in for a Golf GTI. Thankfully bought the Volvo as a demonstrator otherwise I would have also lost a ton of money on it to add insult to injury.

Good thing about the GTS is how well it holds its money.

Guys what do you think about this on my GTS. It's done 9K miles, car is still under warranty.

Exhaust tips look like they are corroding, surely this isn't normal?

Also does anyone have this on there door cards? Seem to have a little bulge on both.

Also noticed one of my roof seals is not as fitted and sung as the other.

Do you guys think these are warranty items?

Thanks

Exhaust tips have been discussed on here before, I'd speak to your OPC. Same for the seal.

As for the leather, you can ask but as a natural product it may just be variation in the hide.

Will give them a call tomorrow mate. It's like a lump in the same place on both door cards.

Took it out today, love it smile

Strange, not seen a lump that that anywhere on my car. I've got a couple of very very very minor "pimples" here and there but that's it.

Let us know how you get on. I need to check my exhaust tips!

I've sent it over to my OPC, See what they say. I'd say all items have defects but they might disagree.

Let me know what your tips are like.

i don't have any lumps like that either, though there is a scuff on the passenger side where the seat belt buckle rubs on the seat.

i'll be sending mine in soon to get that looked at while it's in to have the rear spoiler gap corrected (seems to be a common issue).

Just checked - mine are slightly pitted, not as bad as yours though. Mine car is 2 years old, lives outside and has covered 7k miles.
