I’d say so buddy. The 410s aerodynamics, stiffer suspension, lowered ride height, stripped out interior, ultra light carbon seats & communicative steering makes the entire experience more raw vs the cayman, and an angrier, more twitchy sibling of the 400.
The 410 I drove had most ( probably all) of the "comfort" options - full leather interior, aircon, infotainment, (almost certainly) sound proofing (it was quiet) .It did have the standard 410 suspension (you can have standard 400 suspension or "race" option). So the one I drove wasn't that different from the 400 . Take a "standard" 410 and I can believe it is relatively "raw" - but I suspect many 410 buyers will (as Porsche GT3 and GT4 owners do) spec back a fair number of "comfort" options.

Evora 410 or the new one, as the old one is not a production model now there is only a Sport 410.

The new models make the old ones very dated imo just a shame they are top heavy price wise.

I would buy a Evora if they were £60k cars just not the daft prices they are.

Have to agree. Loud exhausts are generally naff, especially when they're contrived to sound that way. My cooking 997 C2 sounded better from within the cabin. And IMO you can't get better than a 911 SC or 3.2 from outside.

Really? Henry Catchpole in the videos I linked to earlier is with me wink

I've just got back from a nice early morning drive with the windows down - the car sounded fabulous to me. It may have clouded a balanced judgement though, granted, but it's fun which to me is what a sportscar is all about driving

Not sure, is there any difference in the dynamics? I only drove the 410 because the dealer didn't have a 400 demonstrator. I was only interested in how it differed from the 400 - I don't get at all excited about (what I would consider) minor trim and styling differences (GTS interiors are completely wasted on me)

Agreed that new Evora prices particularly the 410/430 look high - but a secondhand Evora 400 is the same prices as a Cayman GTS, and I know which I'd prefer.

GTS sounds nice for a modern NA motor in that price bracket. For me best road car noise is from a Ferrari 360 CS.

"Nothing like?" That is an extreme exaggeration.
I assume you talking about the GT410 Sport which replaces the Sport 410. Weight savings and improved aero are always a good thing - but I very much doubt you'd notice them on the road. In any case, as I say, I think the 400 would be a better choice for me as a DD. I'd want aircon, improved soundproofing , infortainment undoing much of the weight saving - and that rear window would drive me nuts, so I'd have to have a reversing camera (which comes with the infortainment).

yes sorry GT410 Sport, very nice car that imo killing the values of the Sport 410 hence it's been taken off the market.

Evora 400 is just not as good as a Cayman GTS imo and every one has hassles with seats, clutches, tyres etc. never mind the sub standard "infotainment" Lotus put in cars.

I am sure i'll have a GT410 sport one day at £50k 2nd hand. But I still think Caymans are better cars and Lotus is about the Elise/Exige range.

I sold my Ferrari and retained the 981 GTS because it is more fun to drive and the sound is a massive part of that.

And yes I’ve had a V12 Ferrari (ran as a GT car for 20k miles) and yes the 981 GTS is more fun and again the sound is a big part of that.

I;ve said it time and time again the 981 GTS is one of the best sounding cars ever made, Porsche got it pretty much spot on and with the advent of FI across the range, hybrid tech etc.... it is likely to remain one of the best sounding Porsche’s ever.

Are there cars that sound as good, yes of course but make no mistake the 981 GTS is up there with the best of them and the comparable are at a much different price point.

The added bonus is that Porsche designed the 981 GTS to sound good both inside and outside the cabin (whether convertible or tin top). You can make other cars sound good with aftermarket exhausts but that usually gives a good sound inside or out but not both.

The 981 GTS is just so intoxicating to drive due to the sound it makes and very very few cars offer that experience.

My 360 with a Tubi sounded way better than my 981 GTS, but sound is subjective. 458 Sounds great inside and out for the time i had with one, 430 I wasn't so impressed with. 360 CS still makes me wet lol! 981 GTS, still makes a bloody good noise, and being a Boxster, its like 2 cars in one.

I was thinking about this thread while having my lunch earlier, and how Porsche ownership can be seen to be centred around validation of your choice from others. As "Cayman scum" (as my wife calls it given the non-interest we get from snooty 911 owners out and about) I've realised that I actually don't give a flying hoot what other people think, and I don't have to prove or justify my choice of car or opinions to anyone.

My name is Dave. I own a manual 981 Cayman GTS in Carrara White Metallic. I love the way it drives and sounds, I think it's an absolutely fantastic car and I make no apology for singing its praises biggrin

Who's upset, I think they sound st and sorry to say a bit chav.

Just reminds me of 17 year olds back in the day with massive exhaust on Saxo/Nova's

If that your thing that's great.

I'll have you know my high comp engine'd Saxo VTR sounds flipping awesome and spat flames around the circuit, at 18 years old i was pretty cool lol.

I know what you mean about the pops and crackles, a more natural sound like the 997 GT3 RS with a Sharkwerks on would amazing. But it is what it is, still sound pretty decent.
