That green one is stunning. If it's manual and you'd like to sell at any point....
It’s not, and I don’t want to ever laugh

Returning to this forum after a break to see that I've done almost the same as you. As a former 981 owner, I traded my 718 Cayman GTS in after just 5 months of ownership. Just couldn't get on with it, for reasons you've ably discussed in a certain other thread over 100 pages long... I believe it was seeing your green car for sale earlier in the year that sowed the seed of selling the 718. Now in a low mileage 981 Boxster GTS and the amount of money I've lost on the 718 is (almost) forgotten. I echo all your sentiments above!
Good to know I’m not crazy lol! Got any pics?

Just got the 981 home, it has no torque, crappy infotainment, only one USB charging point ... fking love it!

Can totally understand how 718s and 981s suit different people depending on what’s important to you. For me I feel like I’m ‘home’ again at last smile

Can someone tell me if the boot netting came with the CGTS or did you have to buy this?

Depends when the car was sold. It came with early 981s but I didn't get one with my 2016 car. They stopped providing them at some point.

I think it was an option, or maybe became one on later cars.
My Oct/Nov 2014 CGTS had it… I’ll have to check the spec sheet/order.
My Late 2015 GT4 doesn’t.

Sounds like they stopped providing them in 2015 then, which is around the time I expected.

Would the 718 EPS rack fit the 981?

Probably, cost you a fortune though and kill resale of your car.

I think you need to accept the 981 GTS as it is or buy something else. They're not really a modders car.

Define not a modders car?

There's one for sale for £1000 - I can keep the original anyhow.

I meant there's no real subculture of modding them and them being desirable, unlike say a Fast Ford.

Each to their own though! smile

981 Spyder has the 991 turbo rack which is quicker than the 981 GTS rack. I believe this is part of what or learnings from it were carried into the 718 changes.

Have you driven a Spyder yet? Might cost you, but save you also.

Nah not driven it mate. More inclinded to keep the GTS at the mo. 25K is alot to change into something that feels so similar. If it was list and had GT4 suspension and brakes id consider it. I have expressed interest in the 718 Spyder should it be NA, heard that it should be identical to the GT4.

Anyhow I have my hopes up of getting one at list so thinking a few tweaks for the GTS.

Power mods are quite alot, £5000 for 25hp/18lbft.

So I've been thinking about the things I don't like about the car, steering, and gearing.

A 718 rack, steering wheel would be great for the GTS, lower final drive or shorter gears aswell. It would make it a better car to drive.

Hopefully I get told your not having a 718 Spyder sooner than later and I can crack on tweaking the GTS lol.

The steering on the 981 isn't bad and the 718 isn't much better to warrant changing it. Taking the 991 3.4 tune is more important.

The anti tuning view comes from previous models that we were scared to run without warranty but the 981 is far more reliable.

Are you sure the 718 Spyder is going to be the answer though as it won’t sound as good as your GTS!

Tell me about the 991 tune? If like more power but the feeling of how the car drives is more important for the cost.
