Shame you have the wrong suspension :P lol. You don't fancy the GT4 shifter?

PASM is awesome biggrin

I'm happy with the stock gear shift and feel for my road-only use smile

The GT2 style folding buckets are still comfortable once you're in them. My issue is that they're fixed height and sit higher in the cabin than sports seats on their lowest setting. To others it's not an issue but personally I would avoid them for that reason.
Ah, didn’t know that. That’s a bit limiting.

I was until I swapped it out! Even for road use its so much nicer, imo. Makes me love manual even more limiting future cars!

I'm so tempted to do this (981 Cayman S) and was about to 'pull the plug' on the GT4 part, which I understand fits. (P981.424.010.20)

Just reducing the height would really change the comfort and characteristics of changing gear IMO and maybe provide better access to the switch gear behind!

What did you achieve in the end Jay? Around 20mm reduction in height?

Cheers.

Yes mate, I had my mate machine my spare 981 shifter i purchased. 20mm taken from the top, the gear knob keyways extended and a new groove for the gear shifter to lock into, it was an easy job for him! So its now a GT4 part, best mod I have done, feels awesome.

I still have the shifter i took out of the car, was going to bung it on ebay but can get it machine for you and send it out. £55 for the shifter and £30 for machining.

Fitting is easy aswell, out and in within an hour. OPC wanted £199+vat to fit! If your local could give you a hand.

Cheers Jay. Top man! That's really generous of you mate.

I'll PM you later and we can sort something out.

I'm down in Southampton but have Brookspeed around the corner from me and they're very reasonable.

Thanks again!

Specced Buckets simply because I love the look and the comfort (only a bit of pain when getting in) plus very safe when driving fast as I am glued to the seat.

Car never tracked...

Nice video. The sport plus seats aren't bad either.

At that speed a paper bag is fine. Nice roads though!

Regarding the recent comments :
I tried buckets briefly on test drives but think there is nothing to beat the Sports Seats Plus with the 18 way adjustment, plenty of support when cornering and the memory is a bonus when family members alter it (my family drive the car occasionally).
Manual v PDK has been done many times and no arguments from me either way. Mine is PDK and I love it, use manual when having fun.
I also love PASM, comfortable on bumpy roads and when cruising around, sports mode is great for fast driving and tracks.
My car also has PTV, not my choice (as bought used) but the handling is fantastic.
I go to Scotland often and love it, great roads everywhere in the northern highlands and loads further south too.
The extra bonus is mine is a BGTS and has the option of open air driving! Having said that the Cayman GTS does at least look great!

Just ordered a 718 Cayman GTS to replace my 2016 718 Boxster.

Will be waiting until March to get a manual 'box and hopefully by then Sapphire Blue or a new similar colour is available.

Going to be a long 6months!!
