Oh yes, I like that a lot!

Thoughts on any potential problems if wing is removed?
On the basis the 981 Spyder uses the same front bumper (albeit IIRC with a slightly smaller splitter ?) without a rear wing, I'd say absolutely no problems whatsoever.

hat geo settings would you recommend?
I would recommend a visit to Centre gravity to discuss your needs and what issues you are currently having.

or some where like Northamton motorsport and ask for all oem check/reset and to just move the front top mounts slots to max camber.

all pointless if you have p-zero's on. So PS4S would be the 1st port of call, you might be happy with how that feels alone.

Only ever had Goodyear Eagles which I've been happy with but they are down to 3mm so will consider a change .

nice tyre but I found they went off at about 3mm so I would change them sooner than later.

PS4S don't seem to go off and last 20k miles.

thanks guys that's all really useful info, though it doesn't make the decision any easier smile

either way i appreciate what i've got but the GT4 may be an itch i have to scratch at some point.

if anyone is interested in the GTS please PM me and we can at least discuss it.
Gone from a 981 S with GTS spec to a 981 GT4 recently..

S had PASM, which I left off more often than not to be honest. I installed a DSC sport PASM controller in my GT4 and the difference is night and day to stock - rides great now!

It's not twice the car despite being twice the price, but for feel, power and looks it's so much more engaging and fun. Do it.. if you don't you'll always wonder!

Hopefully once all this is over it'll be a GT4 in this rather than my S..

and my 4..

took some essentials to my parents out in the sticks earlier in the GTS... such a lovely car to drive, to experience and look at, especially when the sun's out.

i wonder if they will do a GT4 'Touring' (718 Cayman R?) before they go all electric?
They have, it's called the 718 GTS 4.0

Cheers! Thank the other half for that one.

Was an awesome day around the brecons with a friend in his Cayman GTS. Almost bald tyres and some slightly damp roads - an S keeps you on your toes with it's smaller footprint than a 4. Likely more fun for actual driving I'd think.

There are certainly things an S/GTS is better for - they're a more well rounded car. But I'd been hankering after a 4 for years and it's everything I hoped it'd be.

Lovely car mate - nice shot.
How have you found the DSC Sport Controller?... when did you get it? - are you running the latest files?

I've put minimal miles on it (4 or so hours driving realistically), running the latest files.

A few observations..

The difference between normal and sport mode in the PASM setup (with the standard file) is now nowhere near as defined. You could keep it in sport mode and the ride is still improved over stock (in my limited experience..).

Then again, you feel the car react quicker and stiffen when required so there's certainly a perceptible difference between the modes. It's just actively improving the handling rather than using a facade of immediate stiffness.

The car certainly feels more comfortable over stock in the standard mode too. The reality with my 4 is that I intend to use it a lot - it's not a track rat. I'd rather put a couple of grand into an MX5 for the same if not more enjoyment on track and a lower change of joining the legions of track crashed GT4's on ebay. The DSC seems to offer the best of both worlds, so I'd certainly recommend it.

Instillation is very easy and only takes 10 minutes. I was fortunate to pick my unit up off ebay at half price, so that helped..

note: no Covid19 discount is available. i'll only consider it if i get a good offer and my hope is that i can pick up a well priced GT4 later in the year. car is in fantastic condition and still has OPC warranty til the end of this year. 25k miles.

That wing delete looks the business. I'd defo go with getting the wing deleted if I could afford it (the GT4 I mean! tongue out)

Anyone know who can do this in UK (just curious)?
