Try the fully adaptive seats; I love them, infinite amount of adjust-ability - can really tighten the side of the base and back for spirited driving and great on long journeys.
quite a bit heavier than sport bucket seats though ..

and harder to sit on !!!

the buckets are soft to sit on, you can do 1000 miles no issue.

I get numb bum on Porsche normal seats

Offset by my PCCB's smile

Seriously do you think you could tell the difference in performance between two otherwise identical cars - how much weight do the seats save? Probably less than a good dump in the morning before you set off!

adaptive aports seats, if I remember correctly from 987 range, are around 30kgs heavier than sports bucket seats.

I doubt your PCCBs save that much weight smile

Fair enough. I'd counter I doubt the difference 30kg's makes is of any meaningful significance.

Why stop there....

Consider the extra weight of full leather (all that stitching!), metallic paint, PDK?, auto dim mirrors with 'brain' sensor, seat heating (esp with adaptive seats with all those elec motors....), dynamic headlamps, Bose etc etc....all performance blunting stuff......hehe

Exactly. If you are that serious about "adding lightness", then head to Caterham or Lotus!

And yet, the 'lightweight' 987 Cayman R was a mere 55kg lighter than standard. Most folks added a/c which reduced that weight saving to 43kg.

you def tell the weight going from my R to the Spyder which is a very lighter weight spec driving back to back.

If the bucket seats had height adjustment I would have ordered them.

Three weeks in (800 miles) with sports adaptive seats very happy with how they can be adjusted to fit like a glove, so although I like the look of the buckets the sports adaptive do the job as well.

I've got the 2-way electric sports plus seats in my S and find them far more comfortable than the identical looking adaptive sport seats I had in my 7 GT3. In fact, I rate them highly.

Too many combinations on the adaptives I think - I used to be gutted when it went for a service and they moved everything - to have the 18-way(?) jobs again, I would have to have memory on them?

The 18-way come with memory now.

That makes sense. They were a nightmare without memory.

I have the standard two way sports seats. I pumped the seat right down and moved it back one notch. Not needed to adjust since.

My other half is significantly shorter than me and the Cayman is our only car so both of us regularly drive it.

The convenience of the memory function is great for us. Everyone's needs are different.

Love the sports buckets!! Only slight thing that annoys me is harness holes with no where to mount harnesses lol. But I'd still order them!

I like them both but the 18 way adaptive was the only choice for me...

After sitting on the buckets at the Porsche experience centre, I was very impressed, but the 2-way sport seats are just fine for me. The standard seats are ok, but lack the feeling of being hugged in the corners.

That said, the base weight was always lighter (especially spyder compared to boxster s), so adding bits like a/c wasn't too bad. You're unlikely to have an option free boxster s, so compared with a lightweight specced spyder the difference will be a lot more.

The other talk of seats. The buckets have been excellent, really comfortable even on long drives. They fit so well and look great.
