The gen 1 does nothing for me sorry but thanks anyway!

I have been to see this example, it was utterly immaculate but I think its £2k overpriced given it's only got 3 optional extras! If were to come down to £23k I would buy it.

My memory is a bit hazy, but I seem to recall that car being at Oakmere when I was looking for a 2.9 earlier this year. I also thought it a touch expensive on the mileage/price ratio so didn't bother going to see it.

But if it is the same car, they've had it in for at least a couple of months so you might well be able to do a deal on it ? If it's not sold in that time, it's overpriced.

Not unusual for a tappety sound on these cars to be noticeable on these cars, particularly with window down/roof down. The engine config and position puts one cylinder head closer to your ears than in most cars and less muffled by the gubbins sitting atop of a regular engine set up. Goes away a bit (but not completely) as the engine warms.

There again, may be what you are hearing is not normal. You may prefer to get it inspected. Your call.

Still searching, but I've increased my budget to £27k now which has opened up a few options.

There is a VERY well specced Cayman S with LSD, PASM, sport chrono at Porsche for £27k but it's done over 60k miles and I dont like the paint or wheels. Someone is going to snap that up and have a great car no doubt though.

I'm still searching for a low mile example clean 2.9 with a few toys, I'm going to see two this week (both private). Funny I've not even sat in one moving never mind driven one! When I eventually buy one I hope I don't decide I don't like it on the first journey home...

Oh, and I'm still scared about stories of smoke billowing from the exhaust on startup and smoking out the whole car park boxedin

Hi SkinnyP, wondered if you might be interested in my Cayman S I'm putting up for sale next week once I get back from holiday.
It's a 2010 60 Reg Generation 2 S, so it's got the DFI engine in it that's more reliable.
The spec is as follows -
42800 miles with full Porsche service history. Last serviced at 40k Oct 2013
Warranty till March 2015 with warranty wise
Taxed till end of Sept 2014
MOT Oct 2014
New front disks & pads just fitted
19" alloys
PSE sports exhuast
Bi-xenons lights
Carbon Fibre Bucket Seats with full leather
Multi function steering wheel
Cruise control
Rear wash wiper
iPod connection
Tracker
Sound Package Plus
Sat Nav
Absolutely mint, no scratches or dings, hand washed every week using high end detailing products.
No marks or scruffs on alloys
I'm looking for £28750 slightly above your budget i know but just thought you might be interested.

Hi Kev,
where abouts are you and do you have any photos?

I could possible stretch to £28k but it would have to be the right car. If you decide to PM me do let me know on here as I dont often check my emails.

Failing that my decision is down to a low mileage 2011 car with a few toys or a fully specced brute of a Cayman S with over 60k on the clock.

I'm a bit scared of the mileage, but I reckon it'll be a fking awesome hoon.

Hi SkinnyP few photos of car, just like to add that car has short shifter gearbox and that the private plate will be coming off. I'm based in North Leicestershire. I've sent you an email.
Cheers Kev
