Lowering Generation 2 Cayman

I'll have to disagree. That looks all wrong.
I agree, nothing wrong with lowering the car but have to be careful with the wheels. In this case the wheels are wrong and to big, don't fill the arches nicely. If you look at the picture of the CR you can see that the wheels sit in the arches properly
that SPyder has KW3 and RSS toe links, that's not really just a set of springs is it, looks like 3k worth of stuff.
not that fitting 18mm spacer will help that car increasing the rear track over the front even more.
done for the looks over handling !!!
I have spacers but just on the front to aid turn in like the 981 car has got wider front track.

Tell me this; the new Cayman with Sports Suspension has the wheels practically under the arches. So have Porsche got it wrong? As others have said, does the GT3 look awful against a standard 911?
I have H&Rs on my 997 and it looks perfect in my eyes. No loss of ride quality and handling feels exactly the same to me. I won't be tracking it, so the finite difference is of no relevance to me.
I did a lot of forum searching seeking opinions. One guy has had the springs fitted for over 4 years and the dampers are fine.

The reason the 987 doesn't look quite right lowered is to do with the front wheel arch. The 987 wheel arches curve around to mimic the wheel radius.
The 981 wheel arches don't curve around as much as the 987s — the same with the 991 or 997 — so they look better lowered.
The Boxster Spyder also has a piece of black trim to hide this return — in the same way the GT3 has a piece of trim.
That's why I reckon a 911 or the latest Cayman looks better lowered than a 987 Cayman — at least that's what it looks like in the Google searches I've just done to check my hypothesis.

I've recently had fitted a set of ST Suspension lowering springs fitted to my 981 Cayman 2.7, non PASM. They are available from Design 911 at c £300 inc VAT. They lower the car by 20mm, the same as the Porsche sport suspension option. I think fitting and full geo came in at a bit less than £500.
Good quality and very pleased with the result. If anything, very slightly firmer ride but perfectly acceptable. Handling has certainly not suffered. I personally find it hard to believe that reducing the overall suspension travel by 20mm will have any detrimental effect on longevity of dampers, but we'll see.
