Saw an Arctic silver Cayman today on an 08 plate and I have to say it looked absolutely stunning. It could have been new it was in such immaculate condition.

I can honestly understand why people have such affection for this model.

No idea how it drives but if it's as good as it looks then.....

Hey Bud'. I fell in love with that car in 2005/6 when I first saw one in the street. It is truly remarkable in it's looks. Unfortunately, in development, the generation 2 car has morphed into a car that looks more like the 911 but if I want a 911 then I'll buy one! The rear end of the newer cars looks less, well, curvy! And it was the rear end that attracted me in the first place. Many will confirm that the newer cars are a much more capable car (and so they should be otherwise what's the point of designing a new one?!) but since I have jumped from TVR Chimaera to the Cayman, for me the original shape fits my needs perfectly. To be honest, how much more capable can a car be? I love it for it's looks but when you drive one......O....M....G (as the kids would say!).

Happy to agree. My GTS will be my first Cayman but having seen the older one I can't believe I haven't considered one before beer

Rear end of the new car is just fine.

Have had mine almost a month now and it is an impressive piece of kit.

Lovely car, guards red same as I have ordered. How was the paint finish on the car?

Best beer

It's not that it's not nice but rather it has lost some of the original curvy lines at the rear end. Prefer gen 1.

It's noticeable how opinions differ on this, I never liked the early ones always thought they resembled an animal doing a dump. The 981's are one of the best looking coupes on the market today in my humble opinion.
