Cayman S Dyno - Seems optimistic!

Hi all,

New to the forum and a couple of months in to owning my first Porsche. As much as I love it, I just didn't think it had the right sound so took it for a custom exhaust and remap yesterday. I am pretty surprised at the results as the 'before' graph shows it as having more power than as standard. Whilst I don't know if it has had any mods in the past, I assume not as I feel an exhaust/air filter would be the starting point.

Unfortunately, I have very little knowledge of modifying etc and have thoroughly enjoyed reading through some discussions (and arguments!) on this forum regarding dyno's. Attached is the one that I have had. Does this look about right?

Doesn't the standard cayman s have about 290 bhp? (According to Wikipedia) In which case it's about right now and had previously been a bit down on power.

Depends on whether the standard power figures quoted by Porsche are at the wheels or flywheel. If it's at the wheels, then your reading of 285bhp looks a teeny bit under - 291bhp, or 295ps, were standard for a Cayman S, but if Porsche were quoting at the flywheel, then yes, your's looks a fair bit over at 328bhp.

Different rolling roads can give fairly dramatically different readings though. Unless you plan on trying a few different ones, it's probably best to just use the same one to get a 'before' and 'after' difference rather than a wholly accurate power reading.

I believe the quoted manufacture figures are engine power, ie. at the flywheel.
