Boxster aftermarket warrenties,does anyone bother?

I was wondering if anyone could help me decide whether or not to buy an expensive aftermarket warrenty for my 2005 987 2.7 Boxster,I bought the car in febuary this year from a garage and the car has been 100% reliable so far apart from having to fork out almost every month for expensive repairs.Stupidily I passed on the short 3 month warrenty offered to reduce the initial purchase cost,silly I know but I thought how many issues can a 37,000 mile Porsche have??!
In short I've had to spend over 2k so far on 2 aircon condensers,1 inboard track rod-end,2 rear wheel bearings,a failed drivers side door membrane,6 rotten exhaust bolts,5 leaking water hoses and pipes and a replacement steering rack due to it leaking badly.I love the driving experience and feel good factor but have too admit to being disappointed at the apparant lack of quality of some of the components these cars are put together with...
All this has got me paranoid about the dreaded issues these engines are supposed to suffer from so was looking to purchase a warrenty from the likes of Warrenty Direct to cover any more potential large bills,trouble is they want around 900 quid for the privilege which seems alot to me and they only pay out 50% of the parts cost on a car which is over 6 years old,so I guest my main question is do other Boxster owners think this amount is worth it?? or just go with the flow and hope the engine never fails....!

The car's nearly ten years old. Any 'warranty' will be a mechanical breakdown insurance policy. It won't pay for age and use-related wear and tear which is most of what you've experienced. These companies exist to make a profit, remember. Imho better to put a little aside to cover repairs.
Timely post as my OPC warranty expires at the end of the year on my 2005 Boxster. I must admit that the OPC warranty does give me a piece of mind but in the 12 months or so that I've owned the car I've not had to (touch wood) claim on it....yet.
There have been a couple of things that I have tried to get done under warranty (shock absorber sliding bush having slight play & where shocks were replaced only 20k miles before under warranty, plus a split in the shroud of the handbrake cable) but the OPC played the 'wear & tear' clause & both were unable to be covered. However the previous 2 owners of my car appeared to gave loads done under warranty - new amp / head unit / rear shocks / IMS & RMS seal.
I've investigated a few warranty companies over the last few months & have read some good / not so good stories... The Porsche Club GB put together a preferred warranty company scheme (I forget who it was with sorry) & when I rang them up to enquire about cover I was advised that consequential loss was not covered.... Therefore, I'm guessing if the IMS bearing fails then the warranty would not cover the damage to the engine but just the bearing....
I'd also be interested in people's feedback on warranties as a maintenance plan by the likes of Hartech / Revolution doesn't help me much when I live so far away.

They way I looked at it was that if the car is over 6 years old Warrenty Direct would pay 100% of the labour costs but only 50% of the parts costs,worse case senerio and you had total engine failure down to a failed IMS bearing you'd still need to fork out for half the price of the replacement engine..or am I reading this all wrong...?
