2014 Cayman, PCM and iPod issues

I have a 2014 Cayman with PCM... the system frequently locks up my iPod. I have to 'reboot' my iPod to get it working and occasionally the PCM reboots itself when everything locks up mid journey.
I've replaced the leads, checked the iPod has the latest updates, etc, but it still does it occasionally.
Does anyone else have the same issue?

Had very similar issues with my iPod Classic 6th gen in my 2011 BMW. It can be worth checking if there are firmware / software updates for either the ipod or the in car system. As it only happened infrequently, I just resigned myself to it and wrote it off as an Apple quirk.
It may even be that whatever generation of ipod you have is not intended to work with the version of in car system you have and the fact it works at all is just an accident...
