Only 100 manuals seems an unfair number in my opinion.

So what's the car like to live with if I may ask? No Sat/air con? Roof!

I know it's a tad lighter but how does that translate into daily driving. I would also like to track my daily driver though so how does that translate compared to a standard model (if one does of course)...

I'll look out for the feature too for sure...

Well it's an open top design concept, so most tend to have them as 2nd or even 3rd cars and only use them on nice days.

The thing drives amazing and just works well on B roads and track days with a few tweeks.

Quite a cool thing by all accounts, I love it.

Agree with that (except that it's pushmepullyou) and I prefer the looks of the Cayman for that reason.

But frankly neither gets even close to this for me. Which is why I don't understand the current fashion for cotton reel wheels, and ultra tight wheel arch clearances.

That is very nice indeed.
Thank you, buy EVO next month it will feature in it, hoping they will say nice things :-)
DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
Nick Trott (EVO editor) recently tweeted this, i suspect it has something to do with that feature:

996 GT3, Boxster Spyder, Ferrari 360 Modena coupe manual, or a 355 manual - what's your choice?
Some more to add to the pot: Honda NSX, BMW M3 CSL, 996 GT2...
Sounds like an "analog sportscar" comparison? Would be nice. smile

PS: I agree that the Miura is the prettiest Porsche Boxster!

That's a funny picture. Not in red though. Shiney tingly black with a red roof/interior or racing green with cream roof/interior definitely.

Older sports cars, although beautiful in my opinion weren't quite right perspective wise a lot of the time in my opinion. Overhangs were often to exaggerated although I always liked the Dino (is that a Dino) No for me newer cars have it...

Blimey is that wide angle or is that Jag 40ft long!

It's on it's winter wheels, a set of standard 18" Cayman wheels, it's normally rides on a set of black 19" Spyder ones

You do notice it move around a little more on the rubber, but still handles really well - haven't really noticed if it 'improves' the ride at all - but find the ride on standard wheels fully acceptable

Great catching you DC with you and SWMBO, and at the Kennels the next day - Wedding has officially been booked there for Oct biggrin

Moose, your car really does look good.
My neighbour also has an early Box but in dark blue, and doesn't look anything as good as yours in red.

For me, and I even said this when I had one, the Spyder just doesn't look hard enough - a bit effeminate. (So I guess 'pretty'?)

street talk for ugly. I disagree and think the very first 986 2.5 skinny wheels et al is by far the prettiest Boxster. I'll have a concourse one in gloss black pls. An early 996 c2 in black too pls !!

OP I have to agree with you regarding the Boxster especially the 986. However the wheels on the black car are Sport Classic. The Sport Design, often incorrectly called GT3 wheels, are 10 spoke wheels.

How do I show a photo on here? (Old git = no hope)

has to be a pre facelift 986 though - loses the cars delicate lines for some reason

Mine is a pre facelift – April 2000
Thank you cmoose, I thought that is what I did – will have to try again.

Old dog and new tricks don't appear to work. I will stop whilst I still have some hair left.

Thanks IMIA & moose and all. Makes me feel slightly less a dresser of hair (i do like a nice cut though..) and a more a man's man

Classic wheels indeed for a once and for all? Those are "classic" wheels on my 986. Understood.

I've been in the closet a long while now regarding my 986. I do love that car, it's a spunky little cock and it feels good & tight when your up it (to quote Chris Harris)... with a lovely bum to boot. (I do love a nice bottom)

Maybe I am in denial and gay. Difficult to tell really, I don't give that impression outwardly I hope but If I do I'm proud to be so..

Enough?

PS: Love the Martini stripes..
