The 986 on this photo looks like a SportsBrake version at first glance!

Hmm.. No, It's not about selling the car exactly ...although I might have too! The house for sale in the background should be sold by now but the seller pulled out after a 3 month wait. Bloody furious. The cash flow problem is getting a tad worrying. I'm trying everything but to have to sell the car. I am/was going to throw a fortune at it (time/money wise) because I think it is worth it (mechanically & complete spanking new leather - wise). So I'm very interested to know what others thought bout that!

So it's a wolves at the door moment.... I can see mooses swooping in for the kill. Darn & blast.

Tell ya what. I'll sell the piece of junk, new owner tidies her up properly and I'll buy it back in say... 2 months with cherry on top - or...... someone loan me 5 grand as a charity case for the cause.........angel

Yes bob's & bit's need doing.

A/C rads
coffin arms (I think, squeaking)
Wheels need a refurb
etc etc... don't know full story yet

All new coil packs
New bushes
n/s central locking mech replaced
Brakes will need doing but passed MOT today

etc etc..

Over a grand spend in a year

Car feels as solid as a punch (to me) Love the heavier clutch you get in a 986. Feels proper..

79.000 miles

I feel sick, please help

I'm going to vommit...

The clutch in a 986 should not feel heavy, wouldn't feel any heavier than a Mondeo normally. Might be time for a new clutch judging by the mileage also.

To my memory they all feel firmer, (wouldn't say heavy) compared to a x87, and the brake pedal also! I have been informed that clutch is still v good and it feels great. Well that's fine if not it's time to have some much needed corrective surgery done while having the clutch done. I was kind of wishing I had a good reason to get to that part of the car anyway.

wink

Good to know but once again it's not heavy... just heavier than a x87.

Thinking bout it though I am a master at car wear stinginess without realizing it. I had a car a while back with a dodgy clutch that lasted 2 years. I nursed her for that long literally until my then girlfriend (idiot) got in it and within 2 days it went... furious made her pay for the new one... I said "be careful with the clutch it's a bit knackered" so what did she do... tried to drive up the one of the longest/steepest road where I live...whilst it snowed.. Then she locked the keys in the car in the middle of rush hour.... and then she..... I digress.

No I don't ride the clutch. Heel & toe when ever I can though..

IMS bearing, I'm going to rid you from my life. Is it true 2000 plate cars have a slightly less chance of IMS bearing failure than 98/99?

Thanks for that moose..

Not quite sure what a Ferrari 250 GT has to do in a Boxster thread as the red one above is a Karmann Body on Boxster underpinnings.

But each to their own

The red one is a rebodied Boxster.

So given a choice of a RS60 or a 'bodykit', id take the bodykitted one

Very nice. I like the lines of the Karmann a lot actually, Been tempted, that and very early Porsches. A very bizarre idea though. Are those scoops, under at the front? How well would those cool the engine I wonder...

mhh!
