That can't be worth 30k with all them miles. I'd guess closer to 20k ???

That's a nice spec but equates to what new, £45k? Maybe £48k?

After 5 years and 50k miles, I would expect 50% depreciation, must be enough on the market to judge price no?

Given the price that Gen 2's are fetching £30k for a 2010 model is not out of the way. This example though is a bit up on the miles and I would want the price to reflect that. If it was my money I would not want to give more than about £27K for it.

Its not exactly fully loaded with options either, for that money i'd expect lower mileage, PCM (Satnav), probably some leather interior and most importantly exceptionally presented.

I was thinking it was well overpriced, then had a look about, this car at Paragon is not far off and spec wise is not quite as good plus it's a 2.7 and it's £29k. It is lower mileage however.

There weren't that many Gen II Caymans in the UK for some reason so makes it a bit more difficult to value them.

p.s. I never realised the arch gap was so vast on the Gen II...!!?

Personally I would only buy from an independent Porsche specialist - there are quite a few (Dovehouse, RSJ, RPM, JZM etc) or maybe OPC (if funds permit - but you do get a two year Porsche warranty which covers the engine if it goes pop). However, if you see a car elsewhere that looks perfect then make sure you get a proper PPI done from a specialist such as Peter Morgan.

Not really an issue on the Gen 2's.

I know with the Gen 2's the IMS problem was sorted which was good, but not sure if they are totally immune from bore scoring tbh.

I've not heard of any cases, apart from one a little while ago that kind of vanished and was never heard of again....Porsche Mafioso at work I suspect.

That is pretty shameless smile

Are you really making a point out if the fact the car has ABS?

Paint colour is spelt wrong

Maybe it's some odd ebay setting but in the options list in the advert it has ABS listed which I amused me

Carrara white not Carrera white

Looks a lovely car and great spec, especially the rare ABS wink

Strange that the Porsche spell the colour different to how they spell the name of the car ? http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/911/911-carrera/

the colour technically is Vw Candy white, Its exactly the same colour as all the Vw vans!!.

I am looking for a 981 at the mo and some of the lack of detail in adverts from some sellers I find staggering,I spent a bit of time on my advert taking decent pictures ect. however from the other end of the scale this Bmw that is advertised and it is actually on a trade auction website, sometimes less is more.

It's named after a type of white marble rather than a car.

Rookie error, we've all done it

Thanks to all,
I have taken advice and listened to opinions here and decided to buy this one instead, it has good spec, pcm, Bose, sports chrono etc. (only thing missing is sports seats but hey ho!

http://www.lawtonbrook.co.uk/current-stock/for-sal...

Sellers have sent me loads of close up pictures, as the car is in Yorkshire, they will deliver to London and have agreed in writing that if Im not happy when it arrives, they will take it back and refund all monies paid.

I've seen original sale bill and it was 56k including the optional extras, so Im happy with the deal.
12 monts warranty, not Porsche but it is Autoprotect, (yes Ive heard some bad things too but it is a comprehensive one and up to 5 k single claim and overall up to vehicle value - so not too terrible)

Car arrives next Tuesday smile

Nice looking car and very low mileage too. It looks as if it may have PSE on it as well or at the very least, sports tailpipes.
