That does look good. The optional 'Classic Spyder' Interior package.... which has GT Silver painted interior parts.
..... which would match perfectly with the optional GT Silver paint option for the exterior.
So between the two.. £3000-4000 extra?
They're not stupid are they!
I wonder if the way the car looks has been deliberately muted so not to detract away from the GT4. I agree with all the comments that the body design work, looks like the coming together of a GT4 (front) and a modified 981 (rear). Looks rather awkward imo.
However, whilst it looks might be marmite, I suspect this will be one hell of a car to drive, given the extra power/weight ratio. In addition to this (for the purist) in keeping with a manual it will make a great 'drivers' car. Personally I'm a PDK fan boy but, would not be upset being forced to have a manual.
It is quite clear to me that both across the GT4 and Spyder Porsche have (for now at least) deliberately chosen a manual transmission (over pdk) to ensure that the cars sprinting and lap times remain muted far below that of other halo product higher up the range.
Overall my take on the 981 sypder is a feeling of 'what could of been', had it had the stickers, bigger air intakes, some identity alloys (or perhaps GT ones), in conjunction with a more seamless look on the body, this would have been a serious proposition and highly desired. As it is, I think it will appeal to new to brand customers more for the being the fastest roadster you can buy, rather than tempt existing Spyder owners to part with their current pride and joy.

Strange the UK configurator only shows the 911 buckets, not the 918 buckets as are on the german configurator and in all the press materials? Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
