Well given other none opc dealers cant find a buyer at 5k less id say good luck
Im more than willing to comprimise theres was even the blue one with zero options that would have been a good buy but didn't quite do it for me. Maybe as the gt4 orders start coming through the chances of jumping on a px car will increase. Im wary of spending too much as they are possibly at the peak of appreciation which is probably a dumb time to buy but hey ho. There was a nice green one with 15k on the clock I'm sure that one just dropped off auto trader will watch for that going back on. Do still fancy the red one but they just need to sort that price out.
The green one looked nice but that was the third time it had been listed, twice on PH. Even with the fabled Manual, buckets, Black Spyders and only 15k it still didn't sell at circa £38k...........Im more than willing to comprimise theres was even the blue one with zero options that would have been a good buy but didn't quite do it for me. The red one would cost £8k to get back to R spec !! so even at a deal it would take money to make it a true R and make it resellable with ease.
its a very fussy market.
What would cost 8k the suspension? The wheels would be no problem but I dread to think how much a set of spyder wheels would be?! its a very fussy market.

I'm watching for that one I guess its the colour which is so awful I think its actually cool If anyone knows the owner of that one ask him to get in touch!
when that red car was originally up for private sale, it still had all the original kit ready to go back on, so somewhere along the line it all got sold off, no doubt to recompense the private seller to let his car go cheaper than he wanted to the dealer, who then banged 7k on the asking price!!
its the car that started my whole 'PDK thread' for us die-hard manualists!
If I could have convinced myself I wanted PDK in time and it had been a bit closer to home for a test drive, I might have bought it from the private seller. (I remain un-convinced until I drive one).

Will people please stop posting pics on this thread until I have one!
I'm with you on the manual gearbox generally but this would be a sensible daily driver for me so PDK would be first choice.

My old Spyder was PDK, it's a great gearbox but I got a bit bored it after a few months, not bored of the manual in the R yet...
More pics for you

Whats the spec chaps email info@lotushardtops.com or through PH system
44k would have to be something pretty special. Anyone got a trade in price from OPC yet? Mid 30s at a guess?
opc will want to see £5k but do have to put 2 years warranty on it, full service and make sure all tyres are 4mm and disks/brakes are ok.44k would have to be something pretty special. Anyone got a trade in price from OPC yet? Mid 30s at a guess?
trade price depends what the car needs or does not need, they pay retail(lessa few %) for tyres and service from the parts dept. But OPC cars are retailing at £47k
I know my OPC would SOR it for not much so seems daft for me to punt it if my OPC will do it for me, but my car has over 4mm tyres and just had the major service with plugs done.
spec wise it has every thing. ie the big 5 + leather, booth tooth, bose, aux usb, climate, SS.
people want to pay less of course but then they get less spec, I paid top price at the time for it, it will sell top price come sale time.
They are what they are I guess. Markets just flooded with PDK's atm as people move to the next best thing PDK 3 electric steering etc . OPC cars is one manual with no leather at £46k

Shame it hasn't got PCM. Although I suspect the suspension mods and carbon dipped non-spyder wheels would put a lot of potential purchasers off, hence the price drop.
PDK and KW3 puts every one off imo let alone the turbo wheels. However, I see every other post from you is how st CR PDK are and buy something else. The PDK is fantastic as far as I am concerned, more were sold than manuals, but I wont ram it down everyones throat.
I am sure all the manuals drivers love theirs as well. I think you've made your point !! just my view.
If the manual gearbox was in such demand the manufacturers wouldnt have dropped it from half of the cars. Even the new GT3RS is PDK only isnt it?
If its your only performance car for a weekend drive I would say manual makes sense but if you drive it every day auto is the way to go. For me I'm fortunate to have an Elise for trackdays and that kind of use so a manual R or S would be of no interest to me really or at least it would be a compromise.
Theres a testosterone/evo magazine/Forum fueled bias towards manual gearboxes but ultimately its not backed up by sale figures. Obviously the "wrong" people are buying performance cars eh?

^this. And personally I don't use sales figures as a judge of what I should buy and drive.
As with all these PDK vs manual debates, there is no wrong or right answer, as much as buying a blue is not the wrong colour, just a preference.
Can we move on?
