What you are missing is the people that got the allocations are ones that have bought new cars like Panamers and 911's and lost #30k on each one. I have had a new panamera hybrid from my dear every year for the last few years and lost a packet. Getting the GT cars helps you offset some of the loss.If you are a good customer spending big money you will get into most GT cars.

I don't understand this either. So buying a panamera every year and losing a packet gives a right to be sold a gt4 as a priority customer to not use, but to flip and recoup money on?! Bizzare.
My point was that its madness that arguably one of the very best drivers cars (and a rarity in a manual), has not been driven / enjoyed! Why but it in the first place.
I guess I was lucky that my GT4 was my first new Porsche, but then my OPC knows I use and enjoy my cars so maybe that went in my favour without having to buy a load of panameras..
This thread is awesome, not read in ages but noticed a quite a few more pages so had a quick scan of 5 or so pages.
I still have mine and looking forward to being at home this weekend for a blast. Depressed now, I think that will see me finally tick over 2k miles and with no PCM, cruise or hands free I'll be lucky to be able to swap it for an iphone if the downward trend continues.
I'll check back in next March to see if a 718 GT4 NA has been announced so it's officially declared worthless on this thread.
Oh I had best not mention I have a bog standard Citroen C1 at the moment as a run about and the infotainment system is better than the Porsche unit. It even has hands free, Bluetooth and mirror link for your phone and not a single option speced. 911R would be frothing at the gash - safety first :-) Surely justification that who ever has handsfree, cruise etc has the value options. No talking up nessecary, case closed, will never dip below £80k

My wife (well not anymore) wanted a new car every year, we would put 25k pa on the car and she liked to change it every year. It lost a bit but the loss was offset against tax so its not that bad.The GT4 was not bought to flip but I got to enjoy the car for quite some time and have now moved it on for a nice little profit. I dont see anything wrong in that.
Yes the GT4s may get flipped but they will end up in the hands of someone that really wants one and is willing to pay. Its a free market porsche will sell to their good customers and people are free to do what ever they want.

So you didn't buy a new Panamera every year to get an allocation for a GT4, you got the allocation because you bought the Panameras. Which is fair enough. The GT4 was not bought to flip but I got to enjoy the car for quite some time and have now moved it on for a nice little profit. I dont see anything wrong in that.

fk me! I've just seen in another thread that Porsche911R's GT4 is in the sttest colour of all - gay yellow!
Now I understand his obsession with telling us how great it is!
Eh no! Good luck selling that for overs!
I have never said how great it is ! I said it's over hyped, understeers and the EPS is still not as good as my R ! lolNow I understand his obsession with telling us how great it is!

You're right, I've been thinking the same.
When asked what colour mine is I say it's .... 'lady boy blue' That alone has to be worth a handy shandy even when the car is worthless.
That would be a much better use of people's time, a thread to rename Porsche Colours (all a bit dull).
Gay Yellow and Lady Boy Blue as a starter for 10!

no that would be CRAZY, I buy them because I like the cars, I have 2 of the new ones on order one for me and one for my now ex wife (good terms so I still sort out the cars). Getting a GT4 and probably the next GT911 is bonus. My DD is a 911 I have had around at least 6 911's over the last few years and will keep buying them.
